might be of use to someone? Spotted on HUKD. Altura Night Vision Evo for £ 24.99 if shipped to a UK address (i.e. parcel motel)

Can't get this to work though as the site doesn't allow me to have different billing and delivery address countries. Or am I doing it wrong?

Make your billing address the same as delivery address. Works for me.

Some decent prices on sales stuff in Cycleways Parnell street, think the sale is still going on. Was in there on Friday and got 2 winter jackets for 100 euro. Plenty of long bottoms, gloves and other jackets there too. Many specialized stuff. Seemed to be more of the larger sizes when I was in.

My order just got refunded. Their website had the jacket listed as in stock when it wasn't

Got an order cancellation email earlier as they were flooded with requests and didn't have enough stock. Hope someone else managed to get the deal!

37e per tyre with free shipping is almost as good as from German sites, innit?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,386 ✭✭✭lennymc

alternatively, buy 5 of these and have them delivered for less :)

    http://www.bike24.de/1.php?content=8;product=3761;menu=1000,4,22,35;mid=0;pgc=0;orderby=2

I use these and find it very hard to actually notice any difference between these and the gp4000.

Their sidewalls are not as supple and they're not as grippy , otherwise they are fine.

I have only limited experience with UltraSports (had them on my bike for 2 weeks or so, on GP4000SII now), but I would not commit myself to them for a year, for approx. 20e saving. (I would need to pay 32e a pair + shipping for the 28mm version.)

I have several bikes and go through tyres quite a bit, so I guess it would be quite expensive for me to use a premium tyre. I got about 500 kms out of the last gp 4000 I had (stupid glass)

Bought a pair of these off Rosebikes yesterday, €32.95 vs €38.27 from Wiggle per tyre. Delivery from Rose is €8.95 to Ireland so if you're buying two, you save about €1.70 from using Rose. Every little helps!

Or as I was shown recently if you register with a new email address on the Rose website and sign up for their newsletter you get € 10 off your (min € 50) spend (more than covers their postage) plus a random free gift on your first order.

I got a medium (must have been the last) and was happy with the colour ;) ... keep an eye on it though, 3 weeks ago they had large and medium, they sold out and had only small for awhile, this morning they were showing medium.

Lots of second hand bikes for sale where you cross the border on the N54 on Saturday. Beside where the fireworks are sold. Might be a more suitable thread here somewhere

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,841 ✭✭✭romperstomper

second hand bikes? would you say they were legitimately sourced?

Maybe it's just keeping the overhead down by selling on the side of the road on a border crossing

The lad on the border crossing on the n54 at Legakelly is legitimate. He must be in business there well over 30 years. Got my first bike from him nearly that time ago.
