Standard Gate Sizes for Piers

I plan on building two piers at the end of my laneway that are 2 foot 6 wide by 6 foot high. I measured the laneway this morning and it measures 9 foot wide.

Is there any standard size for gates?

What I'm also wondering is 9 foot wide enough of a gap to leave for concrete trucks to get in at a later date as I need to pour concrete at the back of the house.

I'd suggest checking with electric gate suppliers to see if there's any standard off the shelf gates that can be bought and what width they are.

I'm not going with electric gates. I have heard from friends that they can cause a lot of bother. We aren't in and out the gate much so there's not much need for them.

Gate will only be closed and locked while we are at work and at night time.
