Xbox One/360 Dashboard & Update Discussion (Retail/Beta/Preview Versions)

Hiya lads.
Question.
I was in the preview programme but due to a turn of events, had to seel my XOne. If I buy a new console, add my profile etc, would i be then back in the preview programme or do I have to apply again?

Apply again, the update is pushed out based on console ID.

I doubt you'll get in as they seemed to have stopped taking new applications a few weeks back.

You're Xbox was in it, not you I believe it's the way it works, linked to the Xbox I'd code. Not the person, I may be wrong..

Edit: They seem to have removed the handy headset volume controls from the guide today , I'm sure it will be back there in a later update as it was perfectly positioned.

Your gamer tag is still registered in the preview program, but your new console isn't.

You don't need to go All the way back to square one, however.

On the new xbox, go to the ready to download section. You should see the preview app, download it and enroll the new console. It should be picked up in the preview program (eventually ... It may take longer than usual because they are currently running the preview program for normal dashboard and the NXOE preview in parallel)

Can't say I noticed any difference , but wait wasn't supposed to have some cortana stuff? I'll have a look later I'd forgot about that stuff, though if that was in there I'm sure it would have had a quest to test it or something.

Yes voice is supposed to be different/better. Just curious if you thought it was.

This isn't hugely relevant seeing as the new dashboard is due soon, but does Snapped stuff crash a lot for other people? I usually have tv snapped while starting up a game til it's ready to play, but my xbox often freezes.

It's just a dasboard, you don't really spend that much time there.

Anyone looking to get into this should refuse it if it's offered unless they are willing to actually be a BETA tester. It is way more beta than the previous program.

My Earlier issues have returned and have some new ones, USB TV tuner no longer works at all even though it did yesterday and there have been no new updates, when playing neverwinter i have random presses registered of down or left on the D-Pad when I press RT. I still have to disconnect and reconnect wireless every time i turn on the xbox. Had a party chat with one of the dev's earlier about that and got me to run through some stuff as I played and send reports as I encountered the problems I had.

Yeah, I got in as well, think that they probably just got sick of the hassle that the phased introduction caused on the Preview forums and said "screw it, let everyone in!". The guy on top of the preview leader board and one of the people who participated most on the forum has left after all the nastiness that came out on it. Very sad to see.

Only had a brief look, but it seems pretty good so far.
