Where are you getting your info from? Why and how do you have access to more relevant, accurate and contemporary information than the editors of wikipedia?

The Saudis seem to be staunch allies of western nations?
Some of us don't like the Saudis very much either ...

Well could you tell us about these 12 "opposition" groups you know about? Who are they? Who commands them? Who funds them? What are their goals? 12 different goals seems a bit unusual.

Putin giving a bad-ass speech at the UN.
Giving out about the USA thinking it owns the planet!
"after the cold war, a single centre of domination emerged in the world. It decided it didn’t have to reckon with the UN"
"Isis grew in strength after the 2003 US invasion of Iraq. It is now actively expanding to other regions. The situation now is more than dangerous.”

From what I've observed it seems to be usually people either on the far left (because of America/West-hating) or - ironically - people who are quite far right of centre (because of Putin's ultra conservative views).

Well in fairness he has sent military aid to Syria to defend Christians there from ISIS and also aid to Donbass to defend ethnic Russians from Ukrainian attacks so 1 and 3 on your list are probably not that true. And he did hand back a Lithuanian spy over the weekend.

I'm sure he's working on the rest of the list.

He said he would meet Elton John too.

He's grand. So he sends a few subs and bombers sniffing around the place but sure who doesn't?

Considering Khruschev gave the Crimea to Ukraine in 1954 I doubt old Elton will be singing:

"Oh Nikita you will never know......."

    haha.

    Wrong .

He never sent military aid to defend Christians ,so a week of military build ups and all of a sudden he's defender of Syrian Christians ,
He is propping up a mass murdering scum bag who's only to happy to drop barrel bombs on his own population, Muslims and Christian's alike .

    Some people

Come on now Gatling...who uses barrel bombs (whatever they are) anymore? Sure doesn't Assad have a load of WMDs and chemical weapons he could be using on his own people just like Saddam Hussein did?

Isn't it strange that since Russia stepped up support for Assad the media has dropped all mention of ISIS crimes and changed it's tune to "Assad is responsible" for the civil war in Syria - all is forgotten, ISIS are now the good guys! You don't see this anymore ----> http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3002547/IS-likely-committing-genocide-against-Yazidi-minority-Iraq-UN.html
Who cares about the Yazidis now? Like the Crimean Tatars they had their uses!

Well he did start massacring his own population so yeah the people stood up to him before there was isis .

But why talk about the actual facts ,

Funny the MH17 report is due to be published shortly in the next 2 weeks if I'm correct

I think "the West" should look at who is the lesser of two evils: ISIS or Assad/Russia.

Clearly the sane response is to side with Assad and try and restore stability in Syria. It would allow people to live in their homes, rebuild their country and prevent the crisis of mass immigration from escalating. Win-win all round as far as I can see.

But no, sadly our media prefers to tell a "good guy, bad guy" story in which Putin/Assad is "bad" and anything that nuances that story is thrown out for being inconvenient.

For what it's worth, I hope the Americans are smart enough to take up Putin's offer and work with him. Even if they do it in secret it can surely do good rather than harm. Regardless of what you think about Putin, he is offering a good suggestion to set up an international coalition against terrorism.

Ah Gatling...you're getting all frantic. Assad didn't start massacring his own population. You know that...unless you can provide any evidence of it. Anyway this is about Vlad and how he's helping defeat ISIS.

Now surely you are aware that Saudi Arabia and Qatar are funding ISIS with the full knowledge and approval of US/NATO. That's rather naughty wouldn't you say?

I think old Obama has finally grown a pair of testicles and decided that it would be prudent to work with Vlad in solving the Syria crisis. He's finally decided that the clowns in Washington (generally Republicans who want abortion criminalised and poor people gotten rid of) who will call him names if he shows a modicum of statesmanship are not worth worrying about.

No, it's not that Obama doesn't worry about being called names, it's that he has no more elections to win so the shackles are off to some extent
