I hate hate hate the ads after the anthems. Takes us out of the little bit of atmosphere you get at home.

The Irish commentator on ITV was Geordan Murphy. Didn't find him good tbh; very very boring.

Yeah. I didn't change after the Ireland match and when they switched to this game the players were all lined up for the kick off.

Can you imagine tomorrow, New Zealand lining up for the Haka, few ads come on, coverage resumes with New Zealand guys with their tounges sticking out.

They showed Tonga's this morning but I think that's probably because it was the World feed and they assumed nobody was actually watching so what's the point of showing ads?

I refuse to pay a fee to Sky for HD coverage. Watching the games on ITV.
The coverage is pretty good but my God they do like to go over the top a little.

This. It's so difficult to get any time for proper analysis with all of the constant ads and promos etc.

They just presided over one of the greatest sporting moments probably of all time and the utter commercial rigidity of ads at certain times, ads when we should be watching emotional scenes etc has completely sanitised a glorious sporting moment. This and, as someone else said, things like missing national anthems and their tech nearly always failing to capture atmosphere in the stadia (telling me it is unreal doesnt cut it) really means that the tv viewer misses out

The whole thing looks stale, half-assed and TV3 have missed their chance already

Switched over to tv3 once ITV went to the news. They just watched probably the best World Cup game ever and they are showing highlights of Ireland & Canada? I know it's an Irish station and all but surely a bit more time should have been spent on the Japan game!
