Hopefully this alignment issue is just a bit of taper madness and all will be well on the day. That was a good effort yesterday - you're clearly up for the pace if your hips play ball.

Ah no .. hope the Osteo will get you aligned right for Saturday. Looking forward to the report already. You will smash it I think!

    (no pressure or anything)

Thanks Hilly! I think he will, it's a bit close for comfort but I'll just stay very still all day Friday ;)

Yeah it's not the worst thing that could happen and I can still run with it, it just doesn't feel right. The problem is when I'm not moving, if I sit down I might not get up . The taper madness is in full swing all right what with the bug and now this. I wonder is it inversely proportional to race day performance ? If it is I'm in for a good 'un :D

    Friday – Easy

Stupid bones! Got an emergency appointment with the osteopath which involved a trek at rush hour over to the southside. Spent 30 minutes on Poplar Row unable to move due to the Port Tunnel closure, watching while at least 20 cars cut in ahead from the right turn only lane  Flew across town after that so was able to fit in a short run before my appointment.

Osteo worked his magic with a couple of audible clicks that brought almost instant relief. I declined his offer to dry needle my spine so I have that to look forward to the next time the bones lock up
    • 2 miles @ 8:57 (path)

So, the big day is just around the corner and I’m looking at an A-goal I never would have thought possible in my wildest dreams. I’ll give it my best shot but if I don’t make it on to The Table this time, I can try again in Spring. Hopefully it won’t take as many goes as the 5 mile
    • A-Goal – <1:40
    • B-Goal – <1:45

There was going to be a C-Goal of a PB (<1:57) but I don’t think I’d be happy with anything less than the B-Goal so I’ll reserve my right to be grumpy even if I do get a PB :pac::pac::pac:

Best of luck to everyone racing tomorrow. And thanks in advance to the awesome cheerleaders. And the flapjack makers. Bring it on!

Thanks, Meno! Delighted. Well done on the pacing, not an easy job in those crowds. I'm sure there's a lot of happy runners today thanks to all the pacers.

:D You might do ;) Not too many out there with that name I think. Clung on to the pacers for dear life until mile 10 then managed to pull away a little. 1:39:10 whoop whoop.

Heading out for dinner tonight and will have a shedload of prosecco champagne :D

    Thanks for the good wishes!

I’d say there isn’t anyone involved in yesterday’s race who hasn’t been affected by the tragic death of a young runner close to the finish. No words. Thinking of his family and friends today and also those who tended to him.

We are only given today and never promised tomorrow.
