    Sorry to hear of your situation.

    The incapacitated child tax credit is for living children with lifelong care requirements and therefore would not apply in your case.

    Hi all

    i have 2 questions -

    when did incapacitated child tax credits come into being?

    The reason i ask this is because i have just claimed for my son who is 15 - but it wont let me claim for 2013 or 2014
    He was incapacitated then too so why does it say i'm ineligible??

    I have sent off a query to revenue online but it would be great if anyone here could let me know

    The credit has been around a long time

    The reason you can't claim it online is most likely because Revenue do not have it recorded that you have an incapacitated child on your records. This requires a manual adjustment by a Revenue officer to your file.

    Your best bet is to ring them. You can claim back to 2012 by the way.
