    Hi there,

I currently get my television signal via a Humax box from Holywell Hill.

I was considering switching to the approved Walker PVR set top box. My question is - is series link available on the RTÉ channels using the Walker PVR? As I can not get series link on my Humax box.

    Thanks in advance.

    Yes.

Unfortunately the box has a bad reputation if you search posts here. That been said updated firmware is available for it since late July but I can't confirm if the problems with the box have been resolved.

Best price around for the box at the moment is €99.95 at Powercity.

Thanks Cush - so why doesn't the series link work on my Humax box from the same transmitter?

That one confuses me - I thought it was a broadcast thing..? But this imples that it is the box?

Walker box is the only box series link works on. The user interface on it is straight out of 1987 and the remote must have been designed by a 4 year old child.

Sounds a little harsh, but I've not seen the box so I can't pass judgement!!!

Is there any other PVR available that will allow series link to work?

Series link did work on non-Saorview approved receivers previously but then for whatever reason they (Saorview/Walker/?) disabled it and left us with only a single recorder that didn't work very well, http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=91301578#post91301578

    No.

They have come down in price, around €100 in Power City, when they came out first they were double that.
