I was just wondering what is the standard increase in days holidays people get in their current job.

Started on 20 days and after 8 years I am still on 20 days annual leave. shocking i know!

I was just looking to get an idea of people's jobs/companies and how may extra days they get after so many years up to a maximum

Nothing shocking there, I'd say it's normal.

Alot of companies i worked for in the past added an extra 3 or 5 days after 5 years service as a kind of loyalty bonus. Since the recession though any other companies ive dealt with seemed to have knocked that on the head.

It was in a previous company, extra 1 to 2 days extra level per years X of service but seems to be rarer in other jobs now.

None extra. Thats the private sector for you.

I guess I could go and negotiate for more, but if I am doing that I'd rather just be asking for more money.

20 days when I joined. Every year after that I get 1 extra day up to a maximum of 25 days (after 5 years).

25 day A/L per year and ups to 27 after 7 years service, private sector.

I'm aware of (don't work for) a multi-national that allows you to "purchase" extra days of annual leave - so it becomes an employee trade off between salary and more days.

I heard of a company allowing that, where the money is doubled and given to local charities.
    Great idea.

Public sector - 1 extra day after 5 years and another extra day after 10 years.

In my last private sector job, it was 1 extra day after 5 years.

    20 starting off, 22 after 5yrs, 23 after 10yrs, 24 after 15 yrs & 25 after 20 yrs. Also cash bonus after 10&20 yrs.

We used to have 23 days starting plus an extra day per 5 years up to 28 days max.

Now everyone gets 25 days starting except for people who earned more.
