I bought a Suffolk ram lamb in Raphoe (special sale) on Friday 14th of August. About a week ago he started to Grow little stumps of horns.. I was raging. A week later and one of the horns is mearly 30mm high. Can i go back to the Breeder (Society reg). Have i any right to Answers?? Suffolk shouldnt have horns!!!!

Strange one is that...id be giving the breeder a call. Wont do him any harm if your commercial but will spoil the resale value of him.

Yes you definately have a right to answers. Contact the mart first to point you in the right direction.

first thing to do is contact the secretary of the breed society and see what they say as regards this lamb and explain the story and do not give the breeders name, and when you have your info got, then talk to the person you purchased him from, no point going to the mart as you only have an hour from the fall of the hammer to throw up an animal for a fault.

Why wouldn't you give the secretary the breeders name?

He's not true to breed, you should get your money back.
Contact the breeder, see what he does and if he doesn't pay up, then contact the society.
No point getting him into trouble if it's a genuine mistake.
Is the owners name not on the pedigree cert

by not giving the breeders name it stops the sec forewarning him and will tell you what the societies position.
