    U
I go with 44psi. But it took me a few months to realize that 40psi just doesn't work that well for me.

I'm a heavier than normal rider.

You're right about ZZR being fussy with tyre pressure.
Although I have mine at 40psi but I'm only 11 and a half stone.
But I have noticed any lower and the bike does fall into the bends.

Also if you need to go fast to be comfortable with the height of the handlebars on the ZZR, how fast do you reckon I have to go to be comfortable on Aprilia?:pac:

    PC3 arrived for the ZZR.
Not clued up about them really and am wonder if the map that comes on it first day would be still on it if there was another map put on it?
Basically, can more than one map be stored on it?
I put a bid on it on eBay, not expecting to win but I did.
I have a set of cans ordered with 3 weeks and they are still not shipped!

    A good day today.
Fitted the power commander this morning.
Here's a few pics of the install.
It may or may not help someone in the future.

Firstly remove side infill and place power commander.
    34DDEF25-02AF-4349-898A-7DEF0950F75E_zpsytsviohh.png

Then remove bolts from side faring and bottom fairing.
Run wires down along main harness and cable tie them.
    8EDC34BE-0DF9-4C4E-8DD7-036537DFB058_zpske8xfngn.jpg

Now I had to remove 2 bolts that hold the coolant reservoir and move it out of the way.
Now you can disconnect the connectors.
The red arrow points to the connector to the throttle bodies an the yellow arrow to the connector to the main harness.
Your Power Commander connects to these.

Now connect the ground wire to an engine casing bolt and Bobs your uncle!!

I have an O2 sensor eliminator that I actually forgot to fit but bike seems ok without it.
I was expecting a fault code or something to appear but so far so good.

Now for the icing on the cake.......
I have a set of Blue Flame Cans ordered but they still haven't been shipped
A second hand set of carbon Two Brothers have popped up so I have cancelled the Blue Flames.

The Two Brothers are 275 cheaper as well so delighted as they would have been my first choice anyway!

They just popped up out of the blue this morning.
Went for a test spin after fitting the Power Commander and called to a lad out the road.
He was on the phone to someone about a totally different bike.
I don't know what was said but the guy on the phone had a set for sale.
    Said they were mint. €400.

Your power commaner isnt really gonna do anything until you have a map on it and loaded up. You need to download the dynojet software and plug the pc3 into your computer.

If there is a map already on it and you have hooked up the pc3 to your bike then you currently have no way to know if the fueling settings is good or bad for your bike. Personally i wouldnt drive the bike with an unknown map in it.

You dont know what exhausts, filter etc.... that map was made for.
Just pop onto the dynojet website and see if they have a premade map for you bike with your echausts and youe air filter.

Even then it wont be spot on because you dont know what climate that map was made in but at least you will know what map is in the power commander.

For all you know the map that in it is flooding your bike or running it crazy lean.

Bike is going to John O'Grady next week.
    So it'll be sorted then.
A look at the plugs would tell if she's running rich or lean.

I have nothing to plug the power commander into my laptop to check but whatever map is on it has really made the power silky smooth.

Ill have to give her a run tomorrow, sound is too good not to!!!:pac::pac:

Gave the bike an oil and filter change today. Washed it too. Will hopefully get some time to ACF50 it next weekend.

Also decided to mount my Contour Roam on the bike. Put it under the headlight, seems like the best place. Used some 3M VHB tape so hopefully it stays in place. Need to find something to tether it to the bike before I trust going for a ride with it!

I have driven it quite a bit now!!!
    Absolutely beautiful to drive now.
I'd really recommend getting your one tuned.
Power is so smooth now it has transformed the bike.

A little gurgling on the overrun with the odd little pop but when on the power it's a dream to ride!

The extra 11 ponies I have now is an added bonus!!!

Very useful for the winter. Can I ask what make are they and do they interfere with the fairing ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,731 ✭✭✭goodlad

THey are made by PowerMadd, they are the Sentinel Handguards. They made a few different types.

They sure do interfer with the fairing. Its not possible to get a full lock on the bars with them on. But really how often is that needed....

The bar turn angle is reduced just where i can get a steering lock on. Even then the handguard is slightly pressing against the screen. Pretty sure there will be a small mark down the handguard after a while from it

It wasn't today I done this but it was recently enough.
Ordered a sheet of 4mm aluminium and made a bash plate for the Husky.
In hindsight it would have worked out cheaper to buy one but I like making stuff. Heres a few pics of during and after the fab.

What a neat job, that turned out really well. Did you score all the bends with an angle grinder and then bend by hand?

Did you weld that up with the blue protective film in place?

Nice bit of fabrication. Better than you'd buy. You wouldn't want to be paying somebody by the hour to do it though.

Haha, going from the most DIY, super-impressive job above to the technical leper's 3 hex bolts hugger install.
