sealer between flue pipe and chimney

    Folks whats the best sealer to use between your stove chimney pipe and the chimney itself, its to seal where the stove pipe enters the chimney..

    Fire rope pushed tightly in around the flue and filled over with fire cement

    What if the gap is too wide for fire Rope? Would Rock-wool work?

    No if the gap is that big you need to reload at the install nothing would be able to seal that.
    You would need flue adapters etc.
    For something like that if you posted pics someone will point you in the right direction
