How can Myhill with 4 saves get 2 BPs but Butland with 10 get none?

West Brom defenders are terrible in terms of BPS so it's basically Myhill v Southampton defence for baps. I posted Bellerin's monster score, Cazorla is a bap whore, and Koscielny also had a high score due to a lot of CBIs.

44 points with Huth, Payet, and Sakho to go. My defenders were heroes today. Trying hard not to be greedy, but annoyed that I benched Targett instead of Huth as I'd be in dreamland with 51 points. Still, delighted with that for the day that was in it.

After BPs I ended up with 48. Captain Bellerin got the expected clean sheet but also a very unexpected 3 bonus points!! He alone got me 18.

Very happy with that return as I was 50/50 whether to have him or Aguero as captain this morning!

This is what is puzzling me this season
Decisions like this are paying off in dividends for people

In any other season that was a stupid captain choice.

I'm already regretting not going Silva -> Yaya for -8 this morning. I see his 15 pointer coming. Everything's backing it up. Stats, form, Palace H2H recent history, no Silva, no Sterling...
    Well happy enough now :P...

That said, are we not all of us a bit blinded by Agüero and City great game versus Chelsea? 'Cause Agüero's done nothing else than his goal against last year champion (FPL-wise) this season despite City scoring 10 goals in 4 games...

Recent history shows he never scored vs Palace. Though he only played 2 games so it's not very relevant. But Yaya seems to love Palace! I
Don't know where to find the assists stats...

Aguero is on a catastrophic start of the season so far. He just cn't seem to translate how good he is on the pitch into FPL points. And now he got injured...

The 3BPs for Bellerin and Myhill hurt.
No they don't :D. "Only" 2 for Myhill though.

Well Myhill got the CS while butland conceded 2 goals.

    --

So on 37 (-4) pts (with Wanyama's 3 to sub in for Silva) and Huth & Mahrez to go.

After 3 successful -4, this one backfired.
    Payet -> A.Ayew
    Benteke -> Wilson

Would have been a great week had I kept Benteke. It's not bad though so far...

21 points with 4 to go, Sanchaz looked dangerous today, maybe it's time to get him in again, though if Walcott was guaranteed to start i'd nearly go with him.

I know it's been such a weird start to the season none of the midfielders/strikers are delivering at all. I had the obvious choices as captain the 1st couple of weeks but only got 2pts at best.

Chose Kolarov last time & now Bellerin as I reckon 6pts doubled is better than gambling on a striker to score. I have Aguero & Hazard etc but have lost faith in them as captains.

Yeh but all these people posting OMG look at my crazy score with ridiculous captain picks you don't hear from them for 37GWs a year as their 7 fig rank isn't the most impressive outside the freak weeks.

How does Iheanacho get 3 BPS in the city game - he was on the played 2 mins.

Winning goal has a lot to answer for

Looking around teams of guys in your mini league who are usually 2 million places behind you is a depressing exercise this year:( They're all on more points than me again this week

I'm behind a guy with Jon Walters and Victor Anichebe in his starting XI!!

He keeps captaining Kompany and kicking my ass.

24 BPS for a striker goal. A decent amount of strikers that score actually lose more BPS throughout 90 mins by shooting off target, being offsides, being tackled. So Iheanacho and Martial both beat Benteke and Jerome's BPS despite much lower minutes

I didn't see the game, but like you have Arsenal 2 strikers scored and not one gets a BPS, and then you have this random city lad on for 2 mins scores and gets 3 BPS, he probably didn't nothing else other than put the ball in the net.

On 24 with Surman's 2 to come in so effectively 26 with Mahrez, Schmeichel and Richards left. Another captain fail but what's new there. A 0-0 in the Leicester - Villa game or a 1-1 with Richards and Mahrez attacking returns would be lovely. This season is getting weirder by the gameweek.

    Who cares.

i'd say the only thing keeping a lot of folk still caring about their teams is the money leagues or side bets with other players.

I'm doing fairly sh!t this season like others, but i'm only maybe 30 points behind some of the lads with side bets, which is just different of the chips being used at the right time.

Dropped 140k places and down to 2.07 million.

Walcott missed at least three big chances, and Giroud missed a big chance as well

Random 18 year old Man City player scores the winning goal and nobody bats an eye. Anthony Martial scores and everyone loses their minds!

Got to sort out my forward line up if that Aguero injury is serious, which is looking less likely now, but Martial will definitely not be on my watch-list!

43 sees me rise 150k to 151k. Mahrez to play.

I see the guy who got the highest points so far this GW (95), using his bench booster chip, has 5.1m in the bank, has triple city defence, and has William and Matic in MF - he's up to 10k in the world. mind boggling at times.:confused:

We all should have been captaining Hoolahan

    W. Hoolahan (4)
    D. Silva (4)
    M. Albrighton (3)
    Y. Touré (3)
    R. Barkley (3)

Lads, this is variance. If I pick the player who is 1/2 to score then even if those are true there is still a 1 in 3 chance he doesn't score. Sometimes the blanks come in gluts, and sometimes we get spoilt in terms of our return on investment. On Aguero, Hazard, Sanchez and Suarez in recent times it has almost seemed like the 'correct choice' has almost always paid off.

On the flip side, even the guy who is 5/1 to score scores once in every 6. It has seemed like the 'bad choice' has paid off more than it should so far this season but in reality it's only 5 games in. Value has yet to take its toll so there is no reason to stress really at all. Keep making the 'correct decisions' and normality should resume.

These people tend to try get a big rank early purely for bragging rights and the chips these days mean its even more evident they normally lose interest by November when they are clearly out of the running I wouldn't be worried. From the millions who try it there are bound to be a few who miracle the right combo at the right time.

People undervalue variance in FPL massively. The variance is HUGE but the majority of people can't see beyond what happens from one week to the next. That is the real reason why some people get top 10k year after year while others toil away with high 6 fig ranks wondering why their GW rank fluctuates from top 1k to 3m from week to week and why they can't finish at the top every year. Even decent players are completely results orientated.
