shearing and dipping lambs

    Im shearing some store lambs over the weekend and im wondering how long shoud i wait to dip them or could i dip them the next day.

    Always leave them 3 weeks here, sheep dip isn't good in cuts that you'd have from shearing.
    It's recommended on some of the labels not to dip for two weeks after shearing

    We dont dip here (dont have a tank)

    But would 1st Oct not be very late for dipping? Would there not be a big risk of pneumonia?

    The compulsory dipping was always in the late autumn, always do it here end of sept

    if your going to shear and then dip, the most important thing is get the knackery number on speed dial.

    A bit of a regrowth gives them some insulation and will hold the dip a little longer.
