BBC Radio 4 on Tunein etc (rights restrictions)

Getting this but just on on News programmes on Tunein app and my Internet Radio, damn. Was okay up until today.

Satellite is best for BBC radio, nothing blocked

It may well be, but I don't have satellite or cable TV, just have bad shared wifi at home and mobile data when I'm out mate.

Ok, I'm a big fan of BBC radio too but luckily I have satellite points around the house.

Yeah, I am going to download bbd radio apk and divvy up the DNS settings on my phone hopefully that will work.

any reason that would be ?

You'd expect the cricket to be maybe blocked, but the news is a strange thing to not have access to.

does it work on the normal bbc player on laptop or the bbc radio apps / UK radio player (maybe a UK only app, ive a UK itunes account myself so am losing track of whats UK and whats international)

I checked the BBC Radio iPlayer last night and it was blocked too

I listen to The World Tonight at 10pm most evenings. It was blocked last night. I switched to the World Service instead. The Today programme was back to normal this morning, thankfully.

It's not the first time I've heard a current affairs/news item blocked, so it's not just sports that's restricted.

Same here, was world tonight I tried to listen to last night, 1pm news today was OK, is odd though for news, it happened once about 3 weeks ago to, anyway I downloaded radio iPlayer apk and changed DNS on phone and it worked last night. Can't do anything if it happens on net radio though, actually 10 now and its fine on net radio, weird!

I use an iOS app called UK radios and it's fantastic sound quality and all the UK stations work flawless without need for vpn etc.

I actually really like the BBC radio app, lovely UI and ability to download everything so will stick with it. DNS on phone needed though.

You're missing the point. This was not the case on BBC R4 on Tuesday night. Likewise, I'm sure you don't get to hear any sports on BBC 5 Live.

When this was discussed here a few years back, the suggested solution to blocked football on 5 Live was to switch to a local BBC station. I don't know if that works - I don't follow the sport.

You can listen without the need for any apps on mobiles.
