Jobsekers Benefit and casual work on a self-employed basis

If a person is in receipt of JB can they work a regular one day per week on a self-employed basis? The person provides an invoice to the company and gets a cheque for the amount. The company does not make any tax deductions. Would it mean that they are self-employed, full stop, and not entitled to social welfare assistance…
