It's made me very paranoid about my own online presence since reading about it, honestly. Now I obviously don't have anything like what she did, but it's still a frightening idea.

As long as you are not in the public eye and posting offensive garbage like she was, you will be fine.

Seth has some serious psycho fans online I think, so its one of those that have went and dragged it up, but heh if she hadn't posted it, nothing would have happened her.

Is this the same outlet that broke Athena and Kana signings? If so then I have to say I'm surprised. As you say she is not a look that you would normally associate with WWE. If true though maybe that opens up the door for more potential signings for the unexpected girls. People like Kellie Skater, Madison Eagles and Nicole Mathews would be great assets although I'm unsure if Madison's age would hinder her and the fact that she has 3 kids in Australia. Cheerleader Melissa too

Things are definitely changing. Both in terms of looks and age. Been the case with the men for the while. "If you are good you are good". The trainer Sarah Stock has recommended a few people. Apparently Cat Power was one and Nicole Mathews is another. Common factor in all three is that she is Canadian.

Prazak, Matthews & Co. will probably deny it under torture until Nicole drops the SHIMMER belt though. If she does have WWE interest she will have to apply for a VISA which usually takes 6 months or so going on past experience.

Melissa and Skater are the two i'd want. La Rae also but she's probably in the wrong era for 2015 WWE.

A lot of people saw the match Candice and her boyfriend Johnny Gargano had for SMASH Wrestling in Canada last month and there's gifs flying around too but fans are kind of burying it (not retweeting them) as they don't want to hurt either of their WWE chances - Gargano's especially. Candice just gets ragdolled in that match. Candice is great at the "playing dead" sell. They should really cut that out in this climate with Bram, Snuka and all the other violence against women stuff going prominently in the wider World and media.

So last year we had the fans changing the main event of WrestleMania. This year we have them carrying out performance appraisals!

Would have liked to see The Ascension progress, partially because I can't care about Corbin at all, but also because it was nice to see them being taken kinda seriously.

If only The Ascension got receptions like that when they walked to the ring on Monday Nights. I'm looking forward to seeing the Lucha Dragons vs. Samoa Joe & Finn Balor soon too.

Getting their WWE medicals done in October are according to the Observer: Kane, Athena and NIKKI STORM!!!

    https://twitter.com/SCsirens/status/639252178155126784

She has star quality for days. Her dedication to improving her presentation and promos displayed a genuine work ethic.

Post here several times about Nikki being on WWE's radar. I've never really known a female to have the level of interest they had in her. Scouting shows specifically because she was on them etc.

Ascension as they were on NXT are not good enough to be getting any real focus on the main roster.

Charismatic performers? Imagine how bad they would look if they were ever let near the New Day.

Entertainment? Imagine them on Miz TV grunting while Titus runs his mouth making them look silly.

In ring? Imagine how bad they would look in the ring working a feud with Cesaro and Kidd?

Bruisers? Could they look believable if they tried to beat down Rowan and Harper?

Maybe the two lads could do a lot more but I don't think The Ascension gimmick is the one that will let them show it.

I think if they're going the Demolition/Powers Of Pain/Road Warriors route (which was probably exaggerated on the main roster as a way for Vince to get one over on Triple H and prove him wrong) they might as well go the whole way with it. I think The Wyatt Family could have been a good fit for them, as someone else said here before. I'd just book them to be really violent and destructive, and give them a few big moves that they just do repeatedly to opponents, like the way The Shield did the powerbomb, and break all rules.

The Ascension are the drizzling s**ts. They feel like pretend pro wrestlers. No charisma, dreadful on the mic, a s**t look and poor work. Just cut them already.

Well at least they didn't beat Rhyno & Baron Corbin. I think that could be a cool team, potentially if Rhyno carries all of the talking end of things. Could be a good chance for Corbin.

Nxt was ok show this week.

The audience was shat all over Eva Marie, I do enjoy her entrance, but she is still so green. Judging by the commentary she will be in the title picture sooner rather than later. Shes far from ready for that elevation, someone like Dana Brooke, who is ahead of her, isnt even ready for that push yet.

Gable looks like a star in the making. The more I see of him, the more I warm to him. Crowe on the other hand has the opposite effect.

    Chad Gable is a ledge.

Only downside is his size, but he's got everything else in abundance.

I didn't like seeing The Ascension jobbing like that, they're the proper team. That really is some burial.

Balor's promo was, once again, absolute death. Like truly awful. Once Joe turns they should deliver in the ring at least, assuming that's what happens, I've not read spoilers.

Agree about Gable. He just has a natural charisma and very fluid in the ring from what I've seen. He and Jordan make a good pairing.

None of the current NXT girls do anything for me. Bayley is obviously the exception as she is a great worker. But Alexa, Carmella, Dana and Eva Marie are all very green and not ready to be the benchmark of the division in my opinion. Have yet to see Nia so can't comment on her. Jessie McKay and Cassie are experienced wrestlers so that should help the newer girls l. But for me right now the only credible challenge for Bayley is Emma

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,166 ✭✭✭Stereomaniac

Emma vs. Bayley would be a good match but I wonder how long Emma is going to be at NXT for. Does she still go on the house shows with the main roster? I can't remember if she was in Dublin.
Chad Gable was pretty good since he popped up, and I find myself pretty curious about where they're going to go with him next, is he going to end up being a psycho or will Jordan.

The words 'Ascension' and 'Proper team' do not belong together brother.

Anyway, Ascension are main roster guys. The mentality is guys can do jobs on developmental and they don't count on the main roster. It theoretically gives Corbin & Rhyno a rub and it's really not hurting the Ascension. They are slotted as bottom guys as it is which is what their talents merit anyway.

They have more talent than Baron Corbin.

    Poor booking imo.

Eva Marie is so slow doing her moves that even her entrance seems like she's thinking it through every step of the way.

Have they more talent than the teams they are behind on the main roster?

    I don't think so.

I would neither agree nor disagree with the idea they've more talent than Corbin. He has been working a lot shorter period of time. So while they are all the s**ts, it's possible he'll get better.

However, clearly Corbin has more upside. The company are invested in Corbin and he has some real presence. I'm not sold he'll be a star, but he has a chance. The Ascension have no chance. They are a bottom rung tag team. They are behind even Los Matadores in the pecking order.

I think The Ascension were doomed from the start of their main roster run. They were given these promos where they ran down every beloved tag team of the late 1980s and early 1990s. The announcers took the piss out of them. I read somewhere a theory that Vince intentionally did this so the audiences would piss all over them. They were over at NXT.

The way they were booked to be buried in that segment with the Outlaws, the APA and the nWo about a week or two into their run along with JBL constantly pointing out that they were just a bad Road Warrior parody sure indicates the decision makers never saw anything in them.

I think it was a situation where they'd been on NXT so long and under contract forever so they felt they had to bring them up, but they knew there was just nothing to the act so they brought them up to be underneath guys from day one. Not everyone can be a star, you need guys who's role is to lose 80% of the time and they're fine in that role.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,844 ✭✭✭Moneymaker

They just lack the size of a "monster" tag team. Konnor is a decent enough but Viktor is below average size for a wrestler. You can't take them seriously as a team of brutes.

Shame as their entrance and music is bloody fantastic.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 908 ✭✭✭Palo Alto

You can take anyone seriously if they're booked correctly.

    Look at Taz in ECW.

You can't blame the Ascension for being dead on arrival.

If they were booked to go out and spike-piledrive Titus O'Neil they'd be taken seriously. :)

If they were booked to go out and spike-piledrive Titus O'Neil they'd be taken seriously. :)

But why would the E bother?

The Shield members as a comparison had talent and potential, making them strong over existing stars makes sense as they will be around as important stars themselves for a long time.

The Ascension are not worth that type of booking as they don't have any real potential.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,945 ✭✭✭Monokne

I think this is one where people can't separate their desire to see everyone 'pushed' with what their talent actually merits. They're worse than the New Day, the Lucha Dragons, the Matadores & The PTPlayers. So they're where they should be.

Could they be slightly more over with a huge push? Yes they could. But so was Vladimir Kozlov. It was still a waste of time and resources because he was a talentless bum and a charisma vacuum, just like the Ascension. A more apt name at this stage would be the Descension because it's all downhill from here for these two f**king geeks.

A month from now when Braun Strowman gets beaten, I'll be on here reading people talking about how he had such a huge upside if only he was protected.:D

Ascension shouldn't have been called up to be ruthlessly jobbed so hard by APA immediately. It's deliberate sabotage, no other word for it. I'm not saying they should have been unbeatable, but it made zero sense to do that other than to actively ruin any chance they had. I feel bad for them.
