Also, that's a firm rejection on your trade offer of Duke Johnson for my star running back.

It was a fair trade I felt. Duke Johnson has potential.

    Projected for a solid 7-7

    Projected to be unreal (2-12)

Thinking about it they probably reckon I'll beat awec twice and lose to everyone else. Goody.

I think last year it told me I had a good team that should make the playoffs. I finished last though.

I'd be happy to beat Buer or ibf at any point.

My god UPC are a disgrace.

Called to cancel to switch to sky, got a pretty good deal from UPC to stay so agreed to that. Double checked everything to make sure no hidden or extra costs and waited a day to call back and double checked everything again before agreeing. Check my online bill today, should have been €40, was €115.

47 minutes on the phone to get it maybe sorted. Was initially told they couldn't do anything, but could offset some of the cost by returning equipment. Was then told I had a contract for 12 months. Pointed out that I had a 14 day cool off period and asked to cancel at which point they started "checking my account" to see if there was maybe an error.

Still not entirely sure if it's rectified, so will have to check my account online again tomorrow but can't imagine a business that size having to use tactics like that to make money so had to be pure incompetence.

I actually hate their TV service. It's abysmal.

Did you go for the Horizon thing?

They're a nightmare when you have billing issues, but in fairness, these are few and far between. I find their service very good these days.

I have Horizon but don't use it for the WiFi. It was shít

They're a shambles. Took them 2 weeks to get my multiroom to work.

Now they're charging me for two separate packages, plus multiroom.

    Utter cretins.

Did they give you a seperate router for the wifi then?

I hear a lot of people have issues with the combo-box.

Our TV service is shite, half the channels we are supposed to get don't work. The signal is not strong enough or something, they come across all interfered and stuttery. The record function only works sometimes.

I called them recently and upgraded to hroizon, but got half price for 9 months. They did say the first bill might be higher than normal but would be adjusted the followign month. First bill was half the previous one though. I think their billing dept is all over the shop tbh, I just got lucky.

Our signal must be fine as I have full HD on a lot of channels now, and pretty fast broadband. No complaints here...

They'll be re-branding to Virgin soon. Wonder if they'll be bringing their billing and stuff in under the UK operation. Maybe not since they always had a brand over there anyway... I dunno, but I've never had any issue with em and have been using them since I came to Dublin a long time ago.

There TV box sucks. The laggy **** remote and laggy box just makes changing channels and doing anything useful such a chore. But their broadband is excellent, and they're cheaper than the alternatives so no real choice.

I went for Horizon + internet speed upgrade (which is pointless as anything over 50 is only going to make a difference with multiple people using it at once).

I actually called to cancel, but got 9 months half price so worked out cheaper.

My parents have gone for the rather unorthodox approach of getting UPC TV and dreadful Eircom internet. No matter how much I badger them they won't move it all to UPC. Old people eh

I want to ring them up and see what deal I can get, but I don't want another 12 month contract.

They'll only offer you a deal if you sign into a contract again. I absolutely despise those horizon boxes, and it's not possible to get the old boxes any more.

I got a 30 quid satellite box off adverts and plugged it into the dish that was on the side of the house when we bought. Worked a treat straight away with FAR better quality than UPC has ever given me. Also a bazillionty times faster.

Yes I demanded a separate router. They didn't want to give it but I persisted until they did. Sorted out all the issues I was having.

I'd be on to them if you're not getting channels. Mine are perfect. But I know I'm in an area with fibre so maybe you're not?

Oh we're in a fibre area, I am pretty sure there is a problem with the splitter and one of the wires inside my house.

We demanded a separate router, and then we also changed the fibre entry point from near the front door (which was an extension and thus on the wrong side of load bearing walls) to the roof and ran it right down to the middle of the house. The pcs are hardwired into it. The Internet is class.

I remember when they were installing Horizon they had to change a lot of the wires. Including the one outside my place. Signal is perfect now

I wouldn't start tbh!! Haven't got sky in yet...was on to installer yesterday and he's up to his eyes. Hope to have it in the next week or so. Only consolation is that everyone in the house practically stopped watching TV from horizon went in. It's like the UI was designed by a 3 year old and then was signed off by stevie wonder.

I asked about Sky in our place but we're not allowed to get it. :(
