My uk license expired a year ago(just realised ), im irish living here, finding it difficult to get info on renewing for non english nationals. Will the license office here do a straight swap for an expired uk one????
    Thanks

Yes, just pop down to the NDLS with your old licence, passport and proof of address. PPS number too I think. All on the website and pretty straightforward, 2 weeks and I got my Irish license in the post.

If you have a driving licence issued by an EU member state you can drive in Ireland as long as your existing licence is valid. If you wish to exchange your driving licence for an equivalent Irish driving licence, you must do so within 10 years of your driving licence expiring.

If foreign Driving Licence has expired, it must be accompanied by Certified Details or letter of entitlement from the Issuing Authority.

Ah yes thanks for clearing that up Biko - mine wasn't expired ( just swapped it for cheaper insurance quotes!) so ignored that bit on the website!
