I don't mind the rain so much, it's always the sneaky drop that manages to get under your clothes and rolls down your spine to the lower back that annoys me. It's never 2 drops, always just one sneaky b@stard.

But I have to admit, on Saturday I looked like an idiot in the rain. I was running from my car to a shop. Jeans, shirt, light runners. Car keys were in the arse pocket of my jeans, so that was tugging them down in my canter, and I had to use both hands to hold them up.
Then I ran into a puddle and my feet got wet. That made me run funny. So from a bystandards view, I looked like the chicken 30 seconds into this video.

I love cycling in really heavy rain.

Granted its usually to or from work but the time I save compared to the traffic shut down when on a bus makes it even better!

Playing football in the rain is the best!

Rain isn't nice, it's uncomfortable if you get caught without a rain jacket/umbrella, especially if you have to sit around in wet clothes for hours.

I don't trust anyone who says they like being out in the rain, bloody weirdos.

I love running in the rain. It's my absolute favourite. If it rains during a race or something I'm only delighted with myself.

Being in the rain makes me want to fall in love, sing in public and buy a German hatchback.

Yeah that's all well and good but you can shower after that! Nothing worse than getting caught out in the rain and then you have to sit in work drenched! It's a disaster!

Ah drenched smenched. These people I saw today weren't going to get drenched!
I didn't get drenched! I understand not cycling to work without rain gear in torrential rain. This is from here to there though! Why don't they bring brollies?

What irritates me more are the feckers with golf umbrellas (who've most likely never set food on a golf course!) who just plough through crowded paths because they know people will have get out of their way.

Every so often you can have a sudden shower, even when the sun is out! I wouldn't carry a brolly everywhere, just in case!

And the rain was heavy enough when I was out in it 20 mins ago for it to drench you in a minute! Luckily I did have me brolly!

Has been raining allllll day, so these folk had no excuse. None. Good job on the brolly.

(it's actually getting very heavy now, it sounds so lovely).

I have a glass roof in my car. I lay my seat back a bit and watched the rain and listened to me radio earlier. Was only lovely. (important to note that I was not driving at the time :D)

It's not even the running so much, like I said, it's more the faces people make, like they're getting burned by the drops falling from the sky. Shock and fear on their faces.
The scrunched up face is probably due to them squinting their eyes as rain hitting your eyes can be an unpleasant sensation. They would probably do the same face walking past builders grinding up slabs of concrete with dust in the air.

Rain hitting the face can also be an unpleasant sensation and grimacing can keep the face taut and is a natural reaction for many.

I have never in my life thought anyone I saw doing it was afraid or fearful.

How does the MR2 handle when the road is greasy with rain?

It's raining where I am now. Kind of heavily, but not torrential or likely to cause floods or anything like that. Just rain. Irish rain.

What is it with people being afraid of the rain? As in, running a hundred metres grimacing like the rain is acidic and burning their flesh. What's the deal there? I don't understand it.

Fair enough if you just had your hair done or something. Then I could understand you running from the rain but otherwise what's the point? You scrunch up your shoulders and make a stupid face and get from point A to point B approximately four seconds faster than if you have not made a stupid face or scrunched up your shoulders and ran to your destination. And people always looks so surprised that it's raining. Like they've never seen rain before and it has just come out of nowhere.

Are you afraid of the rain? Are you surprised, in Ireland, when it rains? Do you run like a twonk when it rains? What exactly are you afraid of?

I find it all quite hilarious and entertaining.

This is something I find hilarious too. A friend of mine says she "can't meet tomorrow because it's supposed to be wet". What's happened to people.

Certain kinds of rain can drench you very quickly. Doesn't even have to be very heavy, drop size and wind speed play a part. Running minimises the drenching. And, as a short person, I hate umbrellas. Constantly banging into people. Plus find them annoying to hold and to transport when not in use.

Love seeing folk who walkabout in heavy rain in shirt sleeves. simply accepting the rain with no fuss. Then there are those who put up a brollie as if ONE DROP is poison. Watching how folk react to rain is fascinating...

I love listening to the rain when I'm in bed, hear it against the window while I'm all snug. Something very relaxing and chilled about it.
