Should RTE Gold drop Ireland's Biggest Jukebox

I haven't listened to Ireland's Biggest Jukebox since JC retired but tuned in this morning to hear Larry Gogan "hosting" it. It could have been any show with Larry doing "that was, this is" type links. I did hear him do one link mentioning the show's name and giving the email address for requests.

I've no problem with Larry or whoever hosting the show (and this is not intended as a Larry bashing post), but given the fuss that was made about Nova using the Jukebox name, and I can understand RTE wanting to protect the name, you'd think RTE would produce a show that engages with the audience more than the very obviously voicetracked offering we are currently getting.

RTE have kept Ireland's biggest Jukebox going on RTE Gold presented by Larry Gogan and today he played Britney spears followed by THREE Westlife songs on the program. Is this just to piss off JC ?

...and on 2fm's golden hour yesterday he played Boomtown Rats 'Like Clockwork'. it's a joke at this stage.

And all this while he was on 2FM competing with himself for listeners, so to speak. I messaged their Facebook page re same but they seemed to think that I was wondering how he did it

I assume Aidan Leonard will be taking over Jukebox duties and although I'm not a huge fan of his, I hope it will be an improvement on the current version.

Ireland's biggest jukebox is now hosted by Rob O'Jock, Though for average radio listeners it ceased to exist 6 years ago.
