I rang them about a week ago. They said there were 8 vacancies only! but that could change overnight as requests for staff come in.

I'm in the low 30s and they also told me 14 people were 'gone from the panel' in front of me. So together with the 8 being taken off to fill vacancies that puts me forward 22 places.

    Thanks for the info.
I called PAS yesterday and asked my position on the panel. She said it was unchanged. 8 vacancies sounds very small. Hopefully there is some movement soon

Does anyone know any of the people that were called for westmeath / Offaly region

Hi, As far as I know no one has been called for Laois/Offaly/Westmeath yet. What number are you on the panel do you mind me asking? Im number 42.

Yeah I hope it goes higher than that and that I get athlone so it was not all a big waste of time!

Im the opposite Im hoping to get Portlaoise or Tullamore, If I get offered Athlone or Mullingar I'll have to refuse as I could not afford the travel expenses. Both Athlone and Mullingar are at least an hour drive for me. It would be so dissappionting to have to turn a position down after all the effort with exams, interviews and time. Fingers crossed I suppose.

hi i'm 15. think the top 10 have been notified. PAS said they are still confirming positions and may be in contact with more over the next few weeks.
So fingers crossed. Athlone is the only region I would be interested in . You'd imagine there should be more than 10 vacancies in this area

Yes I feel the same! The pay is not good enough to pay travel expenses too so really hoping to be in athlone!

Hopefully. The girl in PAS was very vague. 10 vacancies is just about 3 per county. Surely there will be more.

Yes I would have thought the same, you have the dept of Agriculture in Portlaoise and the Dept of Education in Tullamore along with HSE, social welfare etc. Maybe once the summer term time has ended and the temporary contracts have ended it will move more quickly.

I have been assigned to Revenue in Tralee, anyone know what to expect? Also, does anyone know what the training is like and the dress code, is it shirt and tie?

Maybe wear a shirt and trousers on your first day. The dress code is most goverment offices is quite relaxed though jeans, jumpers etc.

If I have previous tco experience how long does it take to move from 409 per week in civil or public service?

It depends on how much service you have. If you have 6 months as a TCO done it should only take another 6 months to go up to the next point on the scale.

Has anyone received offers of placement for Westmeath/Offaly/Laois? I am still waiting for a call re: reference check

Thanks. I have only 5 months over two contracts in the civil service.

    Hi Askabout,
Is it a TCO contract you have for revenue or did they offer you a full time CO contract?

Anyone know what number they're at for Carlow / Kilkenny? Have a feeling I'll be waiting a long long time for a job to come about.

That's excellent. Didn't think they were hiring yet in Kerry. You will love Revenue, I did A TCO there. All the staff are really helpful and supportive.

So parking in Limerick city is a little bit of a nightmare which I didn't give too much thought to before.
What are any of new people doing ?
Starting in revenue in September and pricing the various car parks around.
All my wages will be going to the creche and parking - eek

Only the first 10 have been called yet as far as I know. I'm also waiting, seems very slow compared to other regions.

I am ranked in the early 100's for carlow/kilkenny, and recently passed the interview stage. I am not sure what number thy are at regarding appointing people but if I hear anything I will post here.

May I ask what rank you are and have you been called to interview yet?

When I worked there in 2009 they had deal with Arthur's Quay car park. Around 20 a week if I recall.

Hi, I rang today and he said that there's just a few things to be done. He said if I don't get it by the weekend to ring back next week..

Same as yourself, early 100s and passed interview. Am hoping they'll be as quick at placing us as they were with the interview results. Getting impatient in my job now I know I might have a new one! :)

Is that through the permanent comp? Did you have your interview last week? Didn't think they would have been offering positions that quick.
