What's reasonable about the way the are being treated the are contracted to the club for x number of years and if they haven't broken any terms of those contracts they are being treated unfairly.

Why would they give up the pay there are getting for a job they all love because one man doesn't rate them.

There is now way any of us would walk away from £35k, £50k and £100k a week unless it was being matched somewhere else.

If you can't see that well there is nothing more to say.

Nor is the club in breach of any of the terms of their contracts. They're not owed a place in the squad, on game day or at training. They have no entitlement to such a place whatsoever. There is nothing even faintly unfair about that. For as long as they're at the club, of course they'll continue to be paid. But if they want something more than and aside from just a pay cheque, they'll need to seek it elsewhere.

    Your last sentence is key.

Sell them for sure. Isolating them is just a power and dickish thing tbh

Well, I've been pretty adamant that neither club nor players should be airing any of this in public, so we've got that much in common.

How is Moreno having a go at the club?

I've reread his quotes, and I acknowledge I unfairly lumped him in with the others.

We all work for that pay check no matter what that job is to better ourselves and our families.

No one is going to take 25% to 50% pay cuts that will effect our families lifestyle whether we are earning £300 a week or £300k a week.

Making senior players train away from the 1st team with youngsters or whoever is poor tbh. Can't be good for the players morale, both them and the others in the squad. It just comes across a a díckish move.

What happens if 1 or more of them are not sold? Welcome them back to the lads?

    Awful man management imo.

We all probably can guess why Mario is separate.

The other 2 we don't know.

Surprising considering some think the club leaks like a sieve!

Paul Joyce says that Lucas is wanted by Juve, which makes sense I guess given that they lost a couple if midfielders this summer, although he is hardly a direct replacement for either, but he would work well in Italy I reckon.

In other news, Balotelli will be paid a loyalty bonus by the club as per his contract if he is still there after this window.

Exactly what? Do you acknowledge that those players being excluded from the senior squad is not unfair, given they're still picking up their pay cheques, then?

Incidentally, I don't accept that a pay cut from, say, €90k per week to €60k, is anything like a pay cut from €300 per week to €200 per week. To suggest a straight equivalency is pretty facetious.

    James Milner.

Let's not pretend football is like a regular job. These guys earn a fortune regardless.. it's not difficult to believe some of them want to stay for football reasons.

The article in the express says hes an alternative for draxler  they're completely opposite players so id be wary to believe it.

Milner also joined Liverpool because he was promised a starting role in CM his preferred position don't also forget the huge lump sum signing on fee he got to negate his loss of weekly earnings.

Of course football isn't like a regular job that is the point no one is going to give up the kind of money that footballers make.

They do earn fortunes but many end up bankrupt and struggling in later life having to retire in there early 30's and have no other forms of income.

They can't all go on to get jobs in football or with Sky and BT.

Not that many these days. In the diamond Milner will not be central but thats irrelevant.

The point is he's earning less, it's not always about the money.

It's a bit frightening how often this happens. I really hope Mario cops himself on sooner rather than later, because he has all the hallmarks of a guy who'll end up like that.

If he got them to put that in his contract then fair play to him.

I want to see him move on but the abuse he's got and continues to get since LIVERPOOL BOUGHT HIM is sickening.

Imagine how little we'll be talking about Balotelli after we lose at home to Bournemouth on Monday?

Ah here, all nuance and balance is being flung out the window here. We could all do with being a bit less binary, there are shades of grey between any two positions.

We should beat Bournemouth using nearly all ways of looking at it, but I'm in the first week of a last man standing competition this week, and I couldn't pull the trigger on picking Liverpool, despite it being the obvious choice. Not winning would be so 'us' though.

I don't think he is underrated as a DM thats part of the problem.

I think he is only seen as a DM is where the problem is for Lucas.

    Sorry?

Could you get any more emotional about Balotelli?

Most of the "abuse" is he's just a bit shyte, poor fella.

Hands up I was wrong about players taking a 50% pay cut.
Balotelli took a 50% pay cut when he joined Liverpool from Milan in a £16m transfer last August, albeit with his basic £80,000-a-week wage at Anfield topped up with behaviour and performance-related clauses. The forward’s agent, Mino Raiola, also negotiated a series of loyalty bonuses into the three-year contract (Liverpool have the sole option on a fourth year) and one will be payable should Balotelli resist a transfer before 1 September.

Jovanovic and Dossena left early and settled with the club IIRC, so players do it.
