Didn't some sap in Limerick kill himself by pointing a gun at his head and pulling the trigger, thinking it was empty but forgetting the one in the barrel?

I once read of a woman who died unloading her dishwasher.

Apparently she stacked the knives pointy-end up. As she was unloading, she slipped on the Kitchen floor & was stabbed in the chest with her own knives!:eek:

Read that years ago and since then I put the knives in pointy side first.

A woman in Japan dug a deep hole at a beach as a surprise birthday/anniversary present for her husband (I forget which event it was).

She decided to surprise him with a night stroll to this most incredible of gifts, but instead they both fell in and suffocated under sand which collapsed on top of them.

There's been a lot of people killed taking selfies. Must have read about half a dozen or more just this year alone.

Not a selfie, but how the chap in the following clip didn't smack his head off the ledge below is anyone's guess. His g/f, who foolishly tried to stop him mid run up, must thank fcuk she is not living with his death (or his paralyzation at the very least) on her conscience for the rest of her life.

This year I read about a British girl who died on a tour of Australia during a photo op. She was on a ledge below a cliff gripping the cliff top to make it look like she was hanging off it and then she slipped and was gone. The casual risks people take.

That reminds me of what happened to the actor Jon Erik Hexum in 1984. He was filming a TV series, there were real guns used as props on set but loaded with blanks obviously. During a break in filming Hexum is bored and fooling around puts a handgun to the side of his head and pulls the trigger - gun is loaded with blanks so it's okay right? WRONG. Even with no bullet, the wad and expanding gases from a blank at such close range can do a lot of damage. In Hexum's case he blows a hole in his skull and dies later.
