So I wonder who Shane will be drawn to play with this week.

    Bernd Wiesberger and Webb Simpson.

Probably all stems from back in the day when Poulter said Woods would be his only real rival because he felt he was better than the rest.

That kinda things rubs people up the wrong way.

I like him but he has the capacity to come across as a complete dick at times.

If you don't believe in yourself to be the best, you have no hope of ever making it.
Plenty of people have said similar things of themselves and not gone on to be the best so IJP wasn't the first and certainly won't be the last to talk himself up,

Maybe he shouldn't have said that. I didn't see that written anywhere.
He would be right to think that way though if he wants to get to the top.

You can understand how coming out with a public statement like that could wind people up though.

He has always talked himself up and so can sound arrogant. To be fair, he started from nowhere in golf, earned a few bob working for pro's and built himself a great career and I admire him for that. It was sad to see how he played in the Ryder cup.

Twas in an article on Golf World maybe 6/7 years ago.

"The trouble is I don't rate anyone else. Don't get me wrong, I really respect every professional golfer, but I know I haven't played to my full potential and when that happens, it will be just me and Tiger."

If you want to be the best, then you have to think you can beat everyone on any given day.

There are better ways to phrase it though if you're gonna say it to a journalist :)

Couldn't have been 25. That's a Cessna Citation Excel which has a maximum capacity of nine passengers.

I just picked it up from a NetJets tweet, not an area I've knowledge of...

He explains himself in his book and it just seemed like one of those things the American journalists latched onto. The way I read it it was more he just focuses on getting up there with tiger at the time, don't think he was dismissing every other player

I know and there's a lot more context that doesn't get explained with it. But all that most people see is the quote and that's probably why a lot of people don't like him.

Probably a reference to the number of jets they had in Akron yesterday. Must have been well over a dozen executive jets flew out after the tournament.

I just don't get the "Hon" crap. It's a stupid thing to say

Probably not commonly used in certain areas but certainly something that's said down the country. And I'm sure Shane has belted out a few of them in his day.

There's no monopoly on stupid sayings though.

I like him to. He is one of those guys, you either love him or hate him. A bit like a bag of crisps, you are either a Tayto man, or a King man. Tayto for me please :)

Poulter knows exactly what he is doing in terms of giving interviews and working the media etc so imo its hard to believe he was misquoted here. Comes off as arrogant and more style than substance and wasnt he voted as the most overrated player by the pros in the last year or so.

It's just a phonetic representation of how C'mon sounds from the mouths of people in some parts of the country in the white heat of battle.

Ya I know. Just my opinion I think it's stupid. Say C'mon if you want.

But if you read the boards forums it is said a lot after an event so really doesn't make sense then! Say well done

    Don't forget the R2D, up to 4th.

Pity he won't get the 550 FedEx points, might be a blessing in disguise. Some time to relax before great finish to November.

There he is the champion.... Well played big man. Let's get #netjets up and the cold one's flowing.

Poults trying to hang onto Shane's coattails ;)

A gentleman with an enviable short game. I think his laid back demeanor appeals to all golf fans. That shot on 10 was outrageous.

    Nice piece too.
They replayed his "wake up song" earlier this morning on Today in his honour. Some drivel by the Koronas... not even that could make me dislike him a fraction :)

Shane should leave his hat on or that barnet might blow away like a jinny joe.

Poulter could do with blowing it and wishing he might win some day.

Well done shane though. Unreal achievement. Arguably the biggest accolade outside the majors in the year.

Think the point is every time Clara lost to Rhode, Shane won, so if Rhode beat Clara then,,,
