    Lovren, ok wow...

I see Liverpool are taking the "we won't bother defending but we'll just score more goals than you" approach again.

    Christ.

Looks like Rodgers has learned fcuk all from last season.

Looks bad for Lucas imo. I did say all along that u could take alot from our Pre season teams. Markovic too looks well down the pecking order

Well if he does go down it'll be on his terms. We'll either win this 3-1 or lose it 3-0.

Every time Stoke attack I will have to watch it through my fingers. Lovren with not a lot of defensive cover in front of him.

4-3 Liverpool. Three OGs for Skrtel, four goals for Bentekkers.

Haven't played a minute this season and Rodgers tactics are being condemned

Rodgers coming out and saying the 6-1 loss was worst in his career - Sacking his assistants - players coming out and saying they need to make ammends - perfect opportunity to avenge that defeat and so on ...

The attitude of the players. The way they go about their business. All the things we question about our players from mental strength to ruthlessness to achieve a goal are brought into this single game. This game is different from all other opening day games simply because of the fixture and what it means to those players.

Even at my level, i'd be chomping at the bit to return some pride. So i expect us maybe not so much to win - but to go out and earn some respect. To compete every challenge and to give 100%. The result should be a formality if they can do that. I'm not just expecting a good performance ... i'm demanding it.

    YES! icon14.png

Show some ****ing pride and go out there and smash them!

    Sakho's on paternal leave?

Nope, just not one of Brendan's inner circle of poor defenders.

The only hope is that Milner will sit a bit deeper, he's got pace and a tackle, and he reads the game pretty well.

Some squad of players Rodgers is after putting together. If they start living up to their potential, we'll be in very good shape.

Well the good news is that today after years and years of waiting we finally get to attack a flank defended by Glen Johnson rather than the other way around. Really hope Ibe attacks his side as he will rip him a new on imo. Either way I know I'm licking my lips at the prospect. :)

    moaning bar stewards already.

Sakho is on leave for being a new dad. Lucas not in the squad is unexpected I grant you.

He travelled with the squad. If he was on leave he'd be at home with his child.

Do you think Sakho would have been joking around if he had been left out of the team on merit, rather than having been left out for family reasons & not having trained this week?

Read the post above yours. If he was on leave for being a new dad, he'd be at home with his child. That's what paternal leave is for, not to travel with your mates to a game you know you're not playing in.

Maybe there is the expectation of a bid for Lucas and they don't want to risk him, in which case the Illaramendi rumours could have some truth

He missed training because of the child birth so he may not be match-ready

He missed the entire week of training, which is probably the issue. This early in the season, anyway.

Ahm, no!!! He's already saying to the lads ' so I told her BR is forcing me to go to the match today, I'd much prefer to be here with you changing nappies, love you, bye' sure haven't we all used this excuse???

Oh right so, Rodgers has left him out because he rates Lovren more than Sakho. I wish everything in life was so logically explained to me.

    again?

last time they played stoke they started two defensive midfielders and no strikers and found themselves 5-0 down at half time..

playing one striker up front on his own isn't exactly going all guns blazing now is it?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,740 ✭✭✭✭MD1990

Even if Sakho trained this week he wouldn't be starting that is quite obvious imo. Just hope Lovren can somehow find his best form.

Still the good news is that short of Adam, Crouch and Johnson all scoring in a 3-0 Stoke win its Arsenal everyone will be laughing at for the rest of the week.
