    Interesting first weekend results.

Surprise being Everton and the lack of care they seemed to exude.

Exactly the way I wish we were on the pitch.

Couldn't couldn't couldn't disagree more. Objecting, after the final whistle is blown, is an exercise in futility and thuggishness. I hate seeing it. Does my head in. No no no.

I was looking at Costa's reaction after he wasn't awarded a penalty and I was actually embarrassed for him. The guy was throwing a wee tantrum whilst on the ground.

To make it worse, it was a super tackle and never a penalty. Kudos Mr. Oliver.

At least they ****ing care. Not like our bunch who looked like they couldn't give a toss in the back end of last season. Getting battered by ****ing Stoke. Champions, first game of the season and that Chelsea squad still look like they will battle and fight for everything.

From Werners interview in the Echo:

“We felt that there were a number of positions that we needed to improve. A lot of work went into identifying our targets and we were able to land them which was satisfying.

“Every transaction is somewhat different from the next. Without mentioning any names, we were very focused on a player last year. We felt that we had an understanding but his wife wanted

Its a Mourinho team. I suppose if people like classless teams so be it.

They're sore winners so being sore losers is expected.

    . . . . to live in London.

Obviously implying it was Sanchez but i wouldn't read much into what he says as Tom knows how to play the game.

Yeah but the player wanted Arsenal and I doubt it has much to do with his wife.

Not saying he wanted us over Arsenal but to think his wife wouldn't have a big impact in his decision is either naive or mysogonistic.

Well which is it? Cake and eat it much? If you believe Tom the player wanted us but his wife wanted London. I know who I would call naive.

Some game from Shelvey. Looked the player today that his ability suggested early on. Didn't someone post a piece recently about him knuckling down and being very serious about his football. It really showed today, he was fantastic.

It's been a year since we didn't sign a player, let's not worry about it.

Wouldn't surprised if he gets a red card within his next three games.

He is that sort of player. Swansea or rather Gary Monk has been good to him but I'd not want him playing instead of say Coutinho or Milner.

The following are currently on loan with a few more to follow you'd reckon, all bar Ward are playing today.

Danny Ward - Aberdeen (No 1) No game today
Lloyd Jones - Blackpool played full game in 2-2 away draw
Laurence Vigouroux - Swindon Town(No 1) played full game in 4-1 home win
Jordan Williams - Swindon Town played full game in 4-1 home win
Kevin Stewart - Swindon Town played full game in 4-1 home win
Sheyi OJo - Wolves (sub) Played last 10 minutes in 1-2 away victory

Strange players within the squad to compare him with.

Well I'm not sure he can be compared to any current player in the side to be honest. If he was the next Steve Gerrard then it was an old Gerrard who would have kept him out of the team in the last two seasons.

Not arguing any of that but just thought comparing him with Coutinho and others is a bit mental.

Well I wouldn't want him playing instead of Henderson, Lucas, Firminio, Coutinho, Milner, Lallana, Ibe or you know any of our midfield options.
The guy is a loose canon without enough of the benefits to make up for it.
He has talent, no diggty, but he's liable to do anything and can go patches without doing enough for a top 4 side or a club that aspirations of being top 4.

Doubt it was like a battle between them. Wouldn't be terribly surprised if he would have been willing to come to us. We'd just finished second and were likely offering more money. I expect they, as any normal family would, had a sit down and talked over which suited them better, which was London and Arsenal.

As with most things, the truth is probably between the two sides of the story.

    Truth.

Dont get me wrong, I've no problem with players using the dark arts during a match to win but once it's over, just suck it up and move on.
