Early days but nothing to fear from this United team. Extremely workman like performance from them so far. It would be amazing if they went with this Romero chap in goal for the season, looks doggy with the ball at his feet. Them losing De Gea would be massive for us, he was winning games nearly on his own at times for them last season. We all know how hard it is to replace a real top level goalkeeper.

IMO de Gea is the sole reason why they finished 4th. Take away at least a few points without de Gea aka superman performances and they would be around the same points tally as us and spurs.

I will be so happy if Madrid snatch de Gea! !!

We are miles behind Chelsea, City and Arsenal.

Utd could still spend anywhere up to £150m in the coming weeks.

Lots seem to keep writing off Spurs who have finished ahead of us in 5 of the last 6 seasons so to get a top 4 place we will have to get past Spurs and hope one of the other 4 have a very bad season by there standards.

Much of our squad have recent title challenge experience, it'll stand to us.

Regarding FSG, the off pitch prowess they give us is huge for longterm success, the de Gea situation v the Sterling deal says a lot imo.

That was pretty poor from Spurs. Hard game to start with obviously but I didn't see much that would worry me.

United played OK, was impressed mostly by how they controlled the game if nothing else. Again though, Spurs were abysmal.

Very tough to judge anything from that match.

I wouldn't take to much out of that game in regards to Spurs who played 2 games this week on Tuesday & Wednesday in Germany and had to fly home Thursday for an early kick off on Saturday.

I got a dreambox, €65 once off and every game in full HD. Full of movies and box sets too. I'm amazed at how good it is. Currently watching the Spurs build up in HD on NBCSN. Plus don't have to listen to Tyler or Smith or Redknapp etc.

wer ye get that Pm please

They maybe friendlies but they played full strength teams against Madrid and Milan.

Not really. Only a few players played in both, and most of those barely played over 90 mins combined.

Seems a bit bizarre to organise two friendlies in the week the league starts.

Spurs were never known to be fond of money.

It was basically the first choice team that started against Madrid Spurs made maybe 4 changes in that game.

The Milan game was mostly a mix of first and second choice players.

But still it was a crazy time to be playing two games before the start of the season especially when they were the first game of the season Saturday lunch time.

Big season for the little guy, can he regain his best player in the league status.

I think only 2 players that started on Tuesday started on Wednesday, but a couple did come on.
    Tuesday wrote:
Spurs: Vorm, Walker, Rose, Alderweireld, Lamela (Chadli 45), Dier (Bentaleb 45), Kane (c) (Onomah 86), Dembele, Alli (Winks 68), Eriksen (Carroll 68), Wimmer (Vertonghen 45). Substitutes (not used): McGee (GK), Trippier, Fazio, Davies, Mason.

Lamela and Dier started again on Wednesday.

It was crazy though, no arguing with that bit of the point.

Exactly the way I wish we were on the pitch.

Meh I would hate to see us like that. Chelsea always feel hard done by when they have no justification for it. Keeper had to go, it was a knee high challenge and a penalty.
