Consider the word Markovic is about 3 words before the 20m I can't see where the confusion stems from unless you skimmed.

Of course I skimmed no one would spend any time reading this stuff.

    Christ.

If he's going to be the vaguely useful, versatile cover-man, the least he can do is occasionally stay fit.

He's number 1 on my replacement list next summer.

He also generally takes at least 2/3 games to get up to speed after he is out. Completely useless as a squad member at this stage.

Well, while I would never hail an injury to one of our players as good news, as someone who wants to see Can in midfield this season i certainly don't see this as bad news. Joe has had his ups and downs with us whilst never having a major positive impact on any game he has played for us i.e. not a single goal or assist. I realise that is not his main function where he is played but I personally will never forgive him for THAT miss against Everton as I think it was some sort of a mental block that made him miss that chance and that will prevent him from ever being a major success with us.
In short, Joe Allen is the very definition of replaceable imo.

Ah I remember that goal!! Twas in the Cup winner's cup iirc. I think it may have been the last year of that competition actualy as I remember being annoyed at not winning it and then it being cancelled as it was the only cup Liverpol had never won.

He scored the first goal in the 3-3 with palace
I remember as I had a scorecast Allen first goal 3-0 and for about 10 mins I looked like a genius

I think we have a decent chance of getting into the top 4 this season. Rodgers will hopefully know his best 11 now.

Doubt it unfortunately, considering Benteke and Firmino have never played with most of the first team yet.

I stand corrected. Still feel my original point about him is valid however and he is replaceable, especially while Lucas is fit he is no loss whatsoever imo.

Allen showed what he is capable of at home to Man City last year. It's a shame he's never played as well as that before it or after it.

To be fair to him, he has spells where he's amongst the best players on the pitch, but too often he has spells where he's ineffectual as well.

It's also a shame his finishing is so poor, as he actually gets into really great attacking positions.

Doubt Allen will get much playing time with Henderson, Lucas, Emre Can and Milner available.

I don't know Lucas has as many injuries as Allen and Can for as much as everyone loves his hair still isn't proven as a CM and in the games he has played there for Liverpool he was anonymous with lots of potential.

We really could do with another real experinced CM.

So does Borini... Allen will give you one good game in 6 or 7. Utterly pointless player for a club with top 4 aspirations. Even calling him a water carrier is a stretch!

Yeah just like Mario showed what he is capable of 3 years ago for Italy. Doesn't mean it will be replicated for us anytime soon.

Would be pretty confident of it.
