Beach House Rental - Florida (towards Orlando)

We're looking to rent a beach house for a week in October in Florida. We will be 4 adults and 5 kids (all under six). Travelling up from Miami, we want to be within an hour or so of Orlando (probably go to legoland for one day).

Any ideas? Ideally a nice villa with kid friendly facilities beside the beach.

You can find lots of vacation rentals on Craigslist and VRBO.

You can pick your region on Craigslist, but here's Daytona Beach - http://daytona.craigslist.org/search/vac

You might want to pick a different spot if you prefer a private beach house, but those sites are both good places to look.

Me personally I'd be cautious of those two sites and / or going through an owner directly.

I'd prefer a company that has a bricks and mortar office in florida/orlando that you can ring etc. Don't do all your dealings over email.

Check craigslist certainly.

A lot of "bricks and mortar" local real estate companies that handle vacation rentals will advertise on craigslist.

vrbo is legitimate. Rented from them many times.

I've used vrbo myself as well. But I'd be cautious there are scammers on every site - people who steal pics from other sites and pretend to be owners etc.
