how to fix this unfinished wall

    This is a part that was left unfinished in a friends's house. Could it be plastered and put on skirting board/paint or would it need some cement? Could it be done with the quick setting cement. it is under the counter so won't be much noticable

    Plaster typically doesn't go all the way to the floor. Cut some skirting and tek7 it on, job done

    Yes but it is uneven in how far out it comes. it is hard to see in photo. What would i use to make it flush for the skirting. Would any filler do, it is only a small job?

    It is only 3 feet will i get skirting that size or have to buy a full one

    Hammer and chisel away any plaster that comes out too much. Fill in any bits above the line of the skirting that aren't deep enough.

    The tek7 will make up the gap down below

    does tek 7 need a gun to apply

    Yea, pick up a cheap gun in a local builder providers. There's probably cheaper adhesives than tek7, the likes of gripfill should work too. Get a handful of masonry nails to hold the board to the wall till the adhesive dries.

    won't the nails make holes in the board?

    Yes they will , unless your am experienced carpenter it's fairly hard to drive steel mail straight into a masonry wall without bending and damaging the timber , I know it seems easy but don't bother trying in case you mess it up , get a cheap adhesive such as no more nails and apply liberally to the back of the board , but not too heavy or the gap at the top will be too much, get a tube of 1 hour caulk and fill the joint at the top , job done

    OK what will hold the board in place till it no more nails dries?

    It will hold itself , their will be no pressure on it , just give it a gentle tap of a hammer and a piece of flat wood so as not to damage skirting board
