Meeh. I wouldn't wear it myself. The male ones look like sports jerseys. That one just looks like...cheerleader. I'd wear a male one myself before that yoke. Also, seriously, if you have any sized breasts over a B-cup, you're practically falling out of the damned thing. Wardrobe malfunctions incoming, next game.

Way more reasonable. Slightly fitted, normal neckline suitable for sports and a reasonable amount of cup-room (although I'd say you still wouldn't want to try wearing it over a C-cup+).

Sexist is a dangerous word. But I would lean towards it's intended to look a bit sluttish, which isn't really very respectful of their fans.

    What nonsense.

The Aston Villa jersey is obviously the sexiest.

Giving women the choice of appearing more feminine & sexy, while supporting their team isn't misogynistic in the slightest.

    Faux-outrage of the day.

All the Irish provinces and Irish Rugby do produce a female specific fitted supporters jersey, cut to womens tastes and assets all popular sizes, have done for about 8 years. No complaints.

These arent the jersey the womens teams play in, so what the big flippin deal? Its not like lingerie football or anything?!

Well the latest thing is that air conditioning is sexist. This is getting to be just like how everything gives you cancer. Absolute nonsence.

If a woman doesn;t like it can't she simply buy the one without a plunged neckline?

I've seen lads walking around with tops that show ridiculous amount of chest. Most likely spotted going to overrated sh*tholes like Nando's for some cheeky bants with the lads. God, I hate soceity.

The neckline is fecking ridiculous, but I'm not sure sexism is the right word for it.

If you want to wear a sports top wouldn't you want the official version in a woman's size rather than an entirely new design? It's not sexist but just unnecessary. I'd wear the mens myself.

I don't think it has to be, it usually does have negative connotations, but doesn't have to if you take the literal meaning.
Sexism or gender discrimination is prejudice or discrimination based on a person's sex or gender.

You could say other clothing is sexist -women would not need "ball room" in their shorts. Or you could say they judged that men would need ball room.

There was uproar about a womens cycling team outfit that made it appear like they were partially nude. People screaming that the designers were mysoginist sleazy bastards. Then they got all confused and quiet when it turned out a woman designed it.

+1, I could picture some lad like Ronaldo jumping at the chance to wear something like that.

Sudden upsurge in attendance figures at Old Trafford... :D

Really? That's even more harsh than sexist! I mean, obviously the tee shirt is sexist, it's made for women, but sluttish? I'm sure if a woman wears a good bra underneath, she'll be able to keep her chesticles under control :pac:

Low-cut V-neck tops have been women's fashion for decades. This is nothing but another social media storm in a teacup.

I wouldn't go outside the door with a girl in a football jersey.

    Would they fit?

No one said it's misogynistic, it's sexist by definition.

    Your right.

We should all wear identical clothing to avoid gender definition outrage.

We'll need at Penny's ladies dept to burn it down.

Would the ladies among you consider this too sexy / sexist?

Would women normally like wearing stuff that is ungathered at the waist and high on the neck like a mans shirt collar?

    Dont think so.

Those jerseys are handy for spotting tits all over Ireland, what's new?

Good on the Daily Mail not getting involved in this sexism by posting a pic of a fan with massive jugs wearing said shirt.

Hm, yes, maybe it was a rather harsh word to use. My point is that it's intended to accentuate sexuality of the person wearing it. Sports isn't about sexuality. If I go to see a game, I don't particularly want my cleavage showing to that extent. If I'm being active and jumping up and down, I don't particularly want to risk taking someone's eye out either! :P You'd also need to be careful what bra you wore with that - most bras that give good support will cover the cups, so a generic bra (or a sports bra) would certainly show under that.

It's rather unfairly pushing the boob thing. The fellas go in their normal jerseys that look just like the real ones and support the team. The women, if they go in that look...well, they don't. It's a little patronising, I suppose. Yeah, we can just buy the male jerseys and grand. But would it have -killed- them to just make a normal jersey to go support a team thing without having to make it all about the boob-window?

Don't think it's sexist myself. It has been done for a lot of ladies football jerseys in the past and I haven't heard any complaints (I think just because it's a big team like United papers are running it to get views).

Also it's just an alternative, people can buy the other one if they wish, but they might prefer the ladies one.

It's a common design for most adidas ladies kit. Examples:

To be fair, arent most womens clothes made to accommodate breasts, even work blouses, winter coats etc?

This is made for a womans shape, and to show a sporting support, but I wouldnt consider it sexy at all..........

To be fair, judging by those pictures, the cleavage doesn't look any more revealing than a normal woman's t shirt.

Presumably women can just buy a man's version if they don't want the style.

There's an unfortunate rush to label things as sexism when they're probably market led. Some women might want a more fitted, low neck version that's not catered for by wearing a male version.
