A donation of €5/10 to the party fund is often better than chocolates...to be honest chocolates get boring...even a really nice fruit basket is welcome instead for a change

Since when did a waitress or a barman equate to a government official?
My point was that tipping is already illegal in some cases, pre-empting some ignorant cunt saying "how the hell do you think it could be made illegal?".

Also, it's not tax dodging as it's not income, hence the term tip
when it is 100% expected to be a source of income to the employee then I would call it income. I am not saying 100% of people will tip but over the course of a week in many of these jobs they would be tipped. Why the hell do you think the US allows employers to pay so little?

In the US it is certainly considered income and they are supposed to declare it for tax reasons (in some states anyway), in other countries I expect most would still consider it income.

Takeaway delivery drivers here would be a good example, some might be on min wage, some are totally off the books and below min wage. Some on min wage or lower still have to pay their own fuel and car costs, why do they decide to do this min wage job when they have a lot of associated expenses that other min wage workers do not have? -because they know fine well they are extremely likely to get a good amount of untaxed payments to more than make up for it.

F**kwilliam Lawn Tennis Club in Dublin also have a no tipping policy which tells you all you need to know about the kind of places that implement bans on tipping - basically c**ts.
Some of the ones in the US I read about had statements on their menus saying they pay their employees a reasonable wage, that the employees took up the job in the knowledge they would not get tips, so they can calculate if it is a reasonable job to take up. Just like people in mcdonalds or any place where tipping is not expected.
