Thoughts on whether Silva is worth the extra money over Sterling?

I've a budget defensive that rotates very well with each other for the first 6 games anyway.

It's getting to the point where I'm starting to do my nut at this stage!

good team i have something similar. i have silva as he will play through the middle and will be on some set pieces. Richards has been poor in pre season for Villa. wouldnt touch him or any villa defender.

Hutton isn't nailed anymore with their new signings, I'd go Richards

Cheers, need to start some proper research.

    My first proper pick:

    Cech (Elliott)
    Shaw Azpi Huth (Cameron, Saylor)
Hazard (c), Sterling, Walcott, Cabaye (Mulumbu)
    Rooney, Benteke, Sakho.

I don't usually go with expensive keepers but Cech seemed too good to turn down at 5.5. I'm not even sure if Cameron and Huth rotate but both seemed like good picks.

Sterling, Sakho and Benteke are the players I could see change in the first few weeks.

Well then lads, rate my team please....

Looks good. I have the same forwards, and similar mids (Ozil instead of Theo). If you go with Courtois + Mert (instead of Cech + Azpi), that would save you 0.5 which you could either bank, or use elsewhere.

Do you have a plan for Aguero?

I'd prefer to go for rotating goalkeepers rather than risk it all on the Arsenal defense, do we think they'll have quit the habit of conceding the clean sheet when they already have the game won now that Cech is in situ, that drove me mad last year but at least with Bellerin there was always the chance he's contribute attack points.
I think Ivan is well worth the million over Azpilicueta and while I like Shaw I can't find any evidence of him ever being more than a two assist a season sort of guy in a defence that isn't at the very top of clean sheet getters.
Your attack could be very good but it's wait and see I suppose, if you want that big three in midfield I'd consider downgrading Cabaye by 1m to make that swap to Ivan, plenty of options in the 5.5m midfield bracket that should match Cabaye.

Decent enough team though, I know you won't listen to anything I have to say;)

I am tempted with Yaya Toure at 8.5m & have him in my midfield at the moment. He will still be free taker & on penalties until Aguero is back in the team. Only issue is where will Pellegrino play him or will Yaya bother putting a shift in.

I still think Cameron will start next week with ShawX a big doubt, but I've opted for Muniesa in my team. It seems like he'll be first choice CB from their forums and end of last season, he just needs to improve his injury record.
Also, keep an eye on Mulumbu's knock he picked up.

    ShawX

Ha, took me a second to figure that one out...

Well balanced team as long as you're willing to play Sakho every game which you seem to be.

Considering Sakho myself, toying with the idea of rotating him with a reasonably priced midfielder for home games though.

Yeah I'm ok with playing Sakho every week. I think West Ham will be good for goals this year.
My only worry is that they sign Austin and Sakho loses his place.

Austin seems to have all the hallmarks of a deadline day signing. I agree though that Austin being signed would be an indicator to stay clear.

Took some of the comments on board, even Swiper's!

    Myhill
    Ivanovic Kolarov Huth (Muniesa, Saylor)
    Hazard Walcott Sterling Milner (Mulumbu)
    Rooney Lukaku Sakho

    Better or worse folks?

I'd say worse because of Lukaku. Try upgrade him to Kane by downgrading Ivan to Azpi maybe?

    Also who's your other GK?

Elliott. I'm backing Pulisball to shine.

I think Kane is overpriced at 9.5 million tbh. Plenty of strikers have suffered second season syndrome like Cisse, Jelavic and Jon Stead in the past so the jury is out for me.

Do we know that Myhill will still start if Marshall signing goes through? It seems like a sticky situation

Marshall is the better goalie in my opinion, possibly better than Foster as well, very tough to know what will happen there, better and safer options available in defence.

Draft number 378, at least have it narrowed down to a similar 25 or so players now anyway. Cheap back 7 from 7 different clubs. Have one attacking player from each of the big 6 so happy enough with that at least, the headaches will come if Sanchez or Aguero become must haves. Depay to Cabaye would give me a couple of 5.5m defenders but leave me with no United attacking coverage.

    Butland Ruddy

    Lescott Ward Coates Richards Mings

    Hazard Walcott Depay Sterling Redmond

    Benteke Kane Sakho

Myhill is subject to change if Marshall does sign.

Is Agbonlahor nailed with Villa signing Gestede and Adebayor rumoured?

Not sure on the Shelvey pick, he's on pens but doesn't get any close range shots. Lescott might be off to Villa, so keep an eye on that. You also might as well go Schwarzer instead of Elliott in case Schmeichel gets injured/suspended

Too much money in your GK+defence. You really only need one of Courtois or Stek and a 4m filler since you'll be playing them every GW. Janmaat and Jagielka have quite bad fixtures, see above for Lescott. Berahino might be off to Spurs and you would definitely need a WC to get Aguero in with that front line

No point in Stekelenberg if you've Courtois. Waste of money.

Trippier isn't guaranteed to play, Jagielka is too expensive. In fact, considering you've nobody from the top 4 in your defence, it's far too expensive.

Your midfield is ok, though I'd get Arsenal in there.

You've no premium strikers (i.e. Rooney, Costa, Kane). Get at least one of those in IMO.

also, you're going to have headaches with your front 8. You won't know who to rotate on a weekly basis.

Lots of work to be done I'm afraid.

    Revision 1:

    Courtois (5.5) Schwarzer (4)
    Mertesacker (5.5) Fonte (5.5) Janmaat (5) Ward (4.5) O'Shea (4.5)
    Hazard (11.5) Silva (10) Coutinho (8) Afellay (5.5) Wanyama (4.5)
    Costa (11) Benteke (8.5) Mitrovic (6.5)

3 liverpool players and 3 arsenal (2 of which are defenders) is overkill.

    Immediately miles better.

I'd not pick Mitrovic, or a Newcastle defender. I'd also spend less on defence, and include some Arsenal attackers, but that team now has a decent basis.

Just watch the Costa injury stuff and act accordingly.
