Would the app not be fed from the site?

I guess they're fed from the same kinda thing but you could surely have a website down without the app being down and vice versa? Also the app does actually have some different things doesn't it

There's some aircraft coming into Dublin now and there's smoke in the cockpit. Not sure if communication was lost with the aircraft. Strong smell of burning. Coming in now from the east coast.

    Sorry is that

    A) the fire crew are leaving the aircraft

    B) evacuating

    C) or its vacating the runway

    ?

All that I heard on the fire-station frequency is that they are vacating the aircraft. I do think that the guy meant that they are evacuating the aircraft, but he just said that they are vacating the aircraft.

It's all sorted out now anyway, and there is no more information at the moment.

Grand thanks, they usually say "being stood down" or "standing down" so it's not misheard or misunderstood.

This problem regarding smoke in the cabin seems to be happening a lot lately. It's probably the in-flight entertainment system again.

Do Flybe Dash 8's have IFE ?

That was just speculation by me regarding in-flight entertainment system.

I checked and Flybe do Not use IFE. Someone smoking in the toilet again ?.

Flybe have had a number of issues with smoke in cabin and flight deck over the years! I've seen two full evacuations of a Q400 in MAN.

To think I'm nervous going through airport security when I have nothing to hide, someone has the balls to smoke in the toilet.

More lack of self awareness and stupidity, imo.

Some folk are just born stupid. Well at least it was dealt with quickly and nothing more serious.

Ironic that in one of the most regulated industries in the world, the one thing you regulate against is stupidity

When I'm on a flight I sometimes think that the no-smoking part isn't direct enough. An ash tray in the toilet? A cigarette light? Also the fact that they say this is a non smoking flight seems like that it may intend that they is smoking flights (to an idoit of course). Maybe they should be more direct, no smoking signs everywhere that cannot be disabled, state that smoking is against the law etc.

Everyone knows smoking isn't allowed which is why they head to the toilet. Most kneel down and flush hoping the suction will draw the smoke, but the detectors are ultra sensitive. In my book they should be billed the full cost of diversion. I was dragged away from a meal with Mrs Andip for this, so I'm very cross

Would the diversion cost include the meal and anger you had to endure? :p

I thought not smoking on a plane was one of those things that was just basic birth knowledge, like not going out without your clothes on.

    +1
and I'm a smoker, also it's potentially such a short flight - what kind of an eegit thinks it's OK to light up on a flight, tbh - on any public transport nowadays - but the costs involved in this emergency and also the confusion and delays, incredibly silly thing to do.
