I don't believe in seasons, especially your version. Good weather is on the way.

Today is not the last day of summer.

Sure most people go on their summer holidays in August.

Kids are still on Summer holiday.

Only in Ireland do people think this and also think that February 1st is the first day of Spring when it's march.

People need to stop using the pagan/celtic calender.

summer does not end in the middle of summer.

Next week I am "looking forward" to 37degrees in munich, and 30 for most of the week, which most definitely not feckin autumn temperatures.

We usually have a better autumn than summer and I for one am eagerly awaiting its beginning tomorrow.

Yeah, ever the optimist I am looking forward to a mini Indian summer in September. I dont see summer as ending until the heating is turned on.

Then again I will be in 35 degree heat next week.

It was bucking apt to be a good year for turf. I spread mine on the hard in the binkhole this year and still need the jeep in the low range to get in beside them. A lot of poor sods might lose theirs this year. The turf are in grand nick fair enough, but that's buck all good if you cannae get them home.

They go to the beach on Christmas Day in Australia.

Or at least Scott and Charlene did back in 1989.

I'm not in Ireland atm, but I'm guessing ye got no summer and is that even news anymore?

In fact, it would be highly unusual for Ireland to have a good summer

We drove the Jeep up straight and filled the ifor williams. Last time that was possible was 5year ago. Were not on grass either

this IS irelands climate. why do irish people always think we are supposed to get a hot sunny summer, when our climate says we will never have that, and when we get it, it's not the norm.

this country is a kip. i cant wait for my 40C heat in a few weeks!!

Most countries consider August to be summer, Ireland is a bit unusual in considering in Autumn.

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

We used to get decent ones to be fair.

Statistically that is false, our ratio of hot summers has never varied dramatically. People just remember the good ones more than the bad ones :).

Ireland doesn't consider August to be Autumn.

The meteorological summer months are June, July and August. This is used by Met Eireann, the farming science and support services etc etc

August is only an autumn month in worn out primary school nature studies and pagan calendars.

Irish people, rather than Ireland, might have been a better way to phrase it. Most people refer to May as the start of summer.

And they'd be wrong. Met Eireann do their best to correct his misapprehension on their forecasts when theyre summing up monthly or seasonal data.

Let the word go out! August is still summer despite what you see out the window!
