Because he is only available for two months, who is going to train him in so he can then leave that is unless he plans on keeping it on? He needs to ask to speak to the manager not just give the CV to some random youngster behind the till and present himself in a reasonable fashion.

Has all that covered,He always asks for manager,If he gets a Job he will not go to college,Forgot to mention college was an alternative if he docent find work.

Brave decision in the current climate if he's not going into an apprenticeship. Very brave indeed.

I have a Job,We are in the same situation,We both plan on going to college we just don't know what we want to study,I have a good idea but he has pretty much none,Although he dosent want to take a gap year and then find out he has no work.

That's not so bad then. I thought from the op he wasn't going to go at all if he got a job. Bar work is easy enough to come by especially if there's a nightclub for unskilled workers.

It's not what you know, it's who you know. He needs to work on what contacts he has, and ask them to help.

From his experiences I have learned that myself "That it really is who you know",Thanks Ill pass it on to him.

It may be a good idea to look for work experience in that area.
A potential employer may be interested in hiring someone that will have a qualification is an area of interest in a few years time.

It really is who you know. My first part time job, I only got because my uncle owned the shop. My current job, I only got because my Dad is near the top of the company he works for. Before I got my current job, I applied for everything on Jobs/Indeed ect, I had one interview. Your brother needs to use what connections he has, for example, you trying to get him into your work place.

Looking into contacts and family might be a help in networking looking for work. Taking note of shops and cafés that might have notices on their windows looking for staff and that he might let friends, family, friends of friends, friends family be aware he is looking. Knowing someone who could recommend him might be handy as well.
