Guys this might have a easy solution. I am trying to find information on a particular social media platform, but I don't want want to see results that include the web domain. How do exclude a specific domain from my results.
Basically I want to get independent information on it. The first few pages of results are simply different pages on the site.

Try using -site:thesiteinquestion.com in google

Is this what you're looking for, with the example of Facebook.
https://www.google.ie/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&es_th=1&ie=UTF-8#q=facebook%20-facebook.com&es_th=1

It's searching for Facebook, but omitting all results with facebook.com mentioned, which would be everything from their domain essentially.

Yes can't believe it was so simple. That is exactly what I was looking for. I searched google the results it came up with, wanted me to log into my gmail in order to apply a restricted search.
This is what was suggested.
