    Hey guys,

my girlfriend has had a really bad break out of adult acne and its gotten progressively worse over the last year. She has gotten all sorts of creams and anti biotics and medication recommended by a doctor and none of it has worked. A lot of it has seemed counter productive.

She went to a dermo here in Galway already and the dermatologist was a bit unhelpful and unsure. We followed her advice although it was very vague and basic and showed no improvement. She seemed more of a beautician, nice creams and moisturisers etc.

Looking for your recommendation for a good experienced dermatologist because this is really really effecting her mentally and she is in tears every other night :/

Anyone have any suggestions? Would really appreciate it :)

    Many thanks boardies!

It really depends on who her is GP willing to refer her to.

If the first one who the GP referred to was the clueless one mentioned, then that feedback should be given to the GP along with a request for a referral elsewhere.

However if the first one she went to accepted a self-referral, then it's likely that the person is not really a dermatologist!

Dr. Adrian Carney in Roscam Medical Centre.

He is a GP but specialises in dermatology. I had quite a bad outbreak two or three years ago but on his advice it cleared up in a few weeks. Couldn't recommend him enough.
