NCT failed on high emissions [Peugeot 206 (1.1)]

Just failed my NCT on the emissions:

High Hidle CO 0.24% (fail is above 0.20)

Everything else passed.
Engine warning light was previously on but I got a mechanic to turn it off. He said that the Cat converter would need replacing. The car is burning a good bit of oil as well.

I dont want to invest in a new Cat tho as its an old car so just seeing how else i could get the CO level down a measly .04 % for the retest!!

New air filter?
Dipetane?

air filter,plugs,oil and filter and cataclean might help dipetane would raise your limit,what kind of car is it.

I just failed my NCT again on High Idle CO with the following results:

LOW IDLE
CO 0.21% (Above .30% fail)
HC 130ppm

HIGH IDLE

Lambda 1.00 (Pass between 0.97 & 1.03)
CO 0.37% (Fail above .20%)
HC 158ppm (fail above 200ppm)

I failed original with High CO at 0.24%
My mechanice told me use dipetaine and drove the car at high revs before the test but I still failed again as the CO increased to 0.37%

Any ideas an what to try next??

Its recently has a new air filter placed

Cat converter needs replacing and the car is burning a good bit of oil as well so changing the Cat might be my next step

dipetane does nothing for cats as i said previous it would raise your limit,cataclean does your cat and you need 1/4 tank fuel then add cataclean see if your local garage can do an emissions test after car is driven after say 10 miles.
a new cat will be short lived with excess oil burning.
