As slogans go, it's a bit rubbish in fairness. I could think of a dozen better phrases than that to convey the impression it was about a movie. Not offensive in any way though imo.

I'm not threes biggest fan but I fail to see how this is offensive... This group must be an embarrassment for trans people.

The people outraged by this are guarenteed to be tumblr users.

A while back I was told not to call Korea/Japan/China 'Asia' because it upsets Iranians and Iraqi people that they are often forgotten about when the term is used.

Apparently "middle east" is not a suitable term. -.-"

Anyone who manages to find that offensive is an unbelievable idiot and judging by that link there are a lot of them out there.

Slightly off-topic, but I love the way they put a little asterisk after All you can eat data*

    *Not really though

    Love this quote:
besides being gross, offensive and reinforcing dangerous beliefs, what does this even MEAN

So you don't understand the reference (which is fair enough, not everyone has seen The Crying Game) but you've still decided that it's offensive?

That's because everyday brings an increase in the population of clowns in this country and others. Sigh..

What do you call them then? People from countries formerly known as being part of the Asian continent?

I think the people of Iraq have enough to be concerning themselves with. Was this person a white, middle class American girl?

If you're cis you don't get to decide what's transphobic.. according to one comment I read.

You think that's bad? You should check out some of the crazy **** on Tumblr. People have identified about 12 different genders they can be. There's even a gender for someone who has trouble deciding what gender they want to be.

Irish, vegan, student. You call them by their name. Korea, etc.

So if you want visit Asia someday you better not use Asia is the common meaning.

Won't someone please think of the Syrians.

Meanwhile, in a far off land, the Man Up campaign offends lots of men.. and nobody gives a shit.

I really do find it odd how in society we only seem to care about certain sacrosanct sections of society being offended. I mean, I have no problem with them removing the ad, but if their sensibilities getting hurt are gonna be acted upon and regretted, then why not everyone's, even if they are not in a minority.

I speak to two tumblr users everyday and it'd melt your face.

I'm pro anything once it's reasonable but even I get **** from these people :D

That's some of the milder stuff actually. Have a look for "Otherkin" & "Headmates" there.:eek::eek:

Can folks here take a moment and try to appreciate how that ad comes across to trans people? And honestly, it's quite easy to see why someone could be interpreted that way, there's nothing in it to suggest it's referencing a movie or anything and in isolation just looks like it's at the expense of trans people in general.

To all trans people or just some of those who saw the ad? I certainly wouldn't judge all trans people by the low intellectual standards of the perpetually offended internet mob. To do otherwise would be genuinely transphobic.

Maybe you could explain the outrage?

I genuinely don't get it and think it's a significant overreaction, but I'm open to being convinced otherwise

It's picking a popular movie ending twist and saying it's ruining the movie finale for them

When I saw it originally I assumed it meant "The girl you were chatting up turned out to be a bloke", can easily see how trans people took offense.

Not sure how it's suppose to be obvious that it's a TV/movie reference.

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test
