Girls, would you date a man smaller than you?

Ive just seen this on a dating site on a profile:

"Guys, if you are smaller oe younger than me then please dont mail as its not going to work"

Now the age thing I get but this girl is 5 foot 9! Its a safe assumption that some guys are going to be smaller than her. Im 5 foot 8 myself.

What is girl's fascination with men's height these days? Do they equate it to being big "elsewhere" too or something? Is it a "I want to be feel protected" primal thing?

Years ago you would hear a bit about this being a thing but now it seems to be the norm with the vast majority of girls in that if a guy is smaller then he doesnt have a shot.

    Thoughts?

Are you feeling shunned, short arse?

It's what you're attracted to and there's nothing wrong with it. What I hate is the sexism applied. A woman stating her preferred choice of physical look has generally been better received than a man rejecting an overweight woman.

I can understand it, I wouldn't date a girl who was bigger than me. Length or breadth-wise.

I'm a tall woman and I personally wouldn't. It would make me very conscious of my height especially when wearing heels.

I've dated a girl 5'10 and I'm 5'8. It didn't really play much of a factor in the role but I think we both would've preferred if she was smaller or I was taller. I'd find it hard to go out with a fat girl, I guess height is just another thing like that. It's unfortunate because we can't control our height but the world sucks sometimes. I don't mind that, but when girls openly mock your height it is a real ego bruiser. I've had it a few times in nightclubs.

Everyone - male or female - has their preferences. It's hardly unreasonable. I'm 5'7, and if a woman (as opposed to a 'girl') decided to overlook my incredible personality and immense good looks, simply because of my height, then that's fair enough.

Maybe I'm wrong about the double standard. Girls is it still wrong to reject a girl because of her weight?

Solution is simple. Ban high heels.

Wouldn't date a girl over 150lbs, it's fine if women have a height preferences. If a person is not pleasing to the eye to you it won't work, being honest up front help everyone save on time

Smaller, unlikely but mainly because I am 5'2". Men shorter than me usually have a massive chip on their shoulder cause they've probably been made fun growing up. I used to date a guy who was 5'6" and I loved being able to look into his eyes when I was in heels.

Younger, not a problem. OH is younger, and a good foot taller. Now I can't be bothered with heels most of the time so he kinda looms over me.

I hate to admit it because I do feel a bit shallow and unfair for saying it, but no.
It is just my preference though, same as me not fancying blonde men or whatever.

Im 5 '8 myself and about 6 foot in heels, so I dont wear them much because I tend to feel like an Amazon Woman in them!

Not sure it's a new thing at all; just seems that way because of the internet. To be honest, just about my only preference in relation to something a man can't control is height - as in, I would prefer if he were the same height as me or taller. But that's not exactly setting the bar high, as I'm 5ft 4.5 and don't wear high heels (a bit of a heel yes, but not those crazily high ones) - I don't get all this stuff about guys under 5ft 8 being small. Seems grand and tall to me.

And I wouldn't rule out a guy who's smaller, it would just be my preference for him not to be. I certainly wouldn't put "Must be my height or taller in an online profile".

Are you using the correct PC term? It's "no fat chicks"

The no fatties one has to be a silent preference or normal ones get all feminist as pass over you

I think its fair game, personally. If a chap doesnt find me attractive then hes well within his rights to think that.

Itd be fairly cheeky of me to get all uppity about it

I'm 4 foot eleven and a half inches (and yes the half inch counts) in height in my stocking feet. I know it's after hours but this fact is true about me.

So no I wouldn't date someone smaller than me.

I'm an overweight woman (although I've lost 22lbs in the last six weeks and am continuing to lose :) ) and no it's not wrong. Whether we admit it or not, physical attraction is important. Yes, personality matters a LOT, but you can't fcuk it.

Truefully I wouldn't date a woman your size either, be wierd dating a someone that small, the looks from people thinking your dating a child would put you right off.

Yes, I'm a 5'9 female. Went out with a guy 5'5 and my last bf of nearly 4 years was 5'9/same height. It's not like you have any control over what height you are.
