Just checking the forums - Blue Moon has plenty wondering about the price and the fact they are so crap at negotiating a deal, Red Cafe are raising a glass for exactly the same reasons! RAWK is just relieved to have it all done and the money in the bank.

Can see Liverpool starting the season slowly again due to having to integrate too many new players to the team.

Couldn't have used a better photo of Sterling in that tweet, even he can't believe they coughed up that much.
Think he is just off his beak on laughing gas

City really didn't want the fee to reach 50M did they?

If Pool makes the right signings unlike last summer they may do OK.
Still cant see them getting top 4 but the money should help fund a few decent players.

What a deal for Liverpool. Whoever rejected the £45m bid has absolute balls of steel

I think Sterling will do very well at City tbh. With Aguero making space ahead of him and Silva feeding in balls I think he'll thrive. £50m mightn't look too crazy in a few years, considering how young he is.

Lot a pressure to perform straight away though, could get to him if he doesn't hit the ground running.

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

Liverpool must be absolutely laughing. You see Juve's midfield, built for what 10 million? Then City go and throw 49 million at Liverpool for a moody young lad who's achieved absolutely nothing in the game yet. Ridiculous.

For all the talk of Sterling being 'badly advised'; hes gotten the move he wanted and a massive contract.

Been brilliantly advised id say. A rather stupid young lad with one known skill in life. Any agent worth his salt will advise him to make as much money as he can while he's young, marketable, injury free and still has his pace. The only losers here as City by the looks of things. But if FFP has been relaxed, maybe not so

Liverpool won't be laughing. The price may seem ok but they are proving that they can't hold on to their top talents. The money they got from Saurez didn't exactly drive them forwards.

Sterling cost about £15m more than Sanchez cost Arsenal

It would be scary to think of Sanchez value if he was homegrown.

Barcelona also wanted rid of Sanchez to bring in an upgrade.

Jaysus this puts things in even perspective. Good talent but a serious risk taken by City here.

So the question now is it going to be Benteke and AN Other or just Benteke? Would be disappointed if we just settle for Benteke by himself now.

City can afford to take the financial risk I guess

So Liverpool get £36m now after QPR get their cut. Doesn't seem that great for them.

Beats having a divisive figure in the dressing room for the next two years and getting nothing for him. He was adamant that he wanted to go. Liverpool have gotten a very good deal here.

6 years age gap in the difference and homegrown status. It isn't a simple comparison of like for like who is better. City have now got a guy with all the potential in the world who they'll have for 10 years now.

Is he overpriced? Yes. But for a 20 year old English player with homegrown status and that high of a ceiling of potential, it was never going to be a situation where the player would go for anything like their value.

Sterling no more overpriced than Firmino was so I'd say Liverpool have broken about even in terms of inflations of value.

Liverpool bought him for £500,000 quid they pocket £36 million. Not bad.

They'd be grand sure Raheem left his laughing gas at Melwood he was in such a rush out the door

I reckon Sterling will do very well at City.

Brendan Rodgers is a genius, wouldn't sell Sterling until he got "The Godfather Offer". The question now is whether or not he'll put that money to good use.

Brendan Rodgers would have nothing to do with that kind of thing really. Liverpool have done well to get that much for a player who had completely isolated himself from the club though. No question about that.

Well and truly, he had to go. He had made himself such a terrible reputation over the course of a few weeks that he would never survive the deserved abuse he was in for.
