Remember this very well. Awful practice. The same family always without fail gave the largest contribution and the same little lady, without fail, always gave the least - 50 pence. I used to always feel morto for the little lady, but in hindsight I applaud her!

that was probably a bigger percentage of her income

After Tuesday's entertaining show, I suppose we have to expect shows like today's. This is putting me to sleep !!

Your attitude to your mother changes as you get older. ;)

    "Back to the drawing board..."
The whole new approach is because the old hellfire and damnation has lost its threat, so some blue-sky (you can kill me now for using that) thinking is needed.

Perhaps they should give those who give the most premium level seating at the front of the church with nice leather seats and drinks holders for them?

Sounds like the Church of St. Michael O'Leary.

"The car decided to stop", that red engine light that was on the car for the last 6 months must have been trying to tell me something.

"What was wrong with the car?", he won't ask this, it will be like the "who is the father" question he doesn't ask.

If they didn't know where the car was Joe they might have to go the entire length of say the M50 looking for a car, she might not even know if she was north or south bound.
