Removing PVC bathroom wall cladding

This has been in the house for 5-10 years and the time has come to remove it with a view to having the walls tiled as part of a bigger bathroom refit. Currently it's on all walls and the ceiling - the ceiling portion doesn't look too bad (plain white with tongue and groove appearance) but the walls have a marble type pattern on and have to go. If it's a case that the ceiling covering will dislodge when the wall cladding comes off we'll happily remove that too.

We weren't here when it was fitted so don't know how it's fixed to the wall - does anyone have any experience of getting it off? It's fitted in sheets with white spacer sections covering the joins. We will be having professionals in to tile but wanted to know what we're dealing with when the cladding comes off.

    Thanks.

I fitted them sheets once over a tiled shower years ago, if its the one I fitted then it wont come off easy. I used some pretty strong sticky stuff to attach it to the tiles so would probably pull the tiles off the board behind them.

Sorry for hijacking a post here but I'm just wondering can you remember what you used to attach the PVC cladding to the tile? I'm looking at doing a shower cubicle in the PVC cladding with one wall being tiles, the other two are plywood - on the plywood I believe just panel adhesive will do the job.

any waterproof adhesive sealant should do the job. maybe ask at your local hardware store.
