I'm currently going through this process as I've moved to the North, so I'm exporting it to my new address and in my own name. Any ideas what I need to provide as proof of removal from the state?

It's already registered now in the UK so I have the V5C registration cert and new reg numbers and I'm within the 30 days NCTS examination. Would the V5C be enough or would do I need some further proof of removal?

i think the v5 is enough as im doing the same myself however my car is below the value threshold for a rebate but ill be claiming my tax back, can i ask had you any issue with insurance in north on the vin, i can get good quotes etc on the vin but the companies have told me im not legally entitled to drive the vehicle whilst insured on vin till dvla issue northern registration, its catch 22 as insurance and mot is required by dvla to issue registration

No didn't actually have any issue with this. You can book an MOT on your southern reg, you just need to call them rather than registering it online.

I was also able to get insurance with Allianz, called them up to tell them my situation and they said they'll insure me on southern reg number if I plan to import in 30 days. I think I ended up being insured for 45 days or so on the southern reg in the end as I didn't get it changed over within the 30 days. They were sound about it and called them up to give them the new UK reg yesterday.

Anyone know how long the reclaim takes? I sent everything away about 2 and half weeks ago but no word from them yet.
