Only getting a chance to get on here so I'm jumping back a few pages but the jetairfly that decided to not land in Tunisia, is that not a major over reaction?
I mean it was an isolated incedent so to speak. Or is it just a case of most of the pax will be wanting to get the hell away from there as soon as they land and hear about it?

Give the passengers the chance to think about it like the Aer Lingus flight that went tonight 1/3 decided not to go. Would you rather turn back and be given the chance to think about it or be dumped in the airport and the plane leaves as per schedule and then you find out 28 people were slaughtered down the road in what "might" be a one off incident but might not be and not have a way out for another few days or a week ?

Is the Aer Lingus charter flight there now or has it returned already or has it not even gone?

Did the news break while they were mid-flight? Maybe with sketchy details and a potential change in travel advice from the various authorities they took the decision to turn back as a precaution awaiting clarity?

What about the people who were on the ground in Tunisia desperate to leave the country just to find that the plane turned back and won't be coming?

That flight infact took off 12mins ago, only a few hours delayed.

If you had a flight tomorrow to Tunisia, would you go?

Personally I would unless offered a full refund. I wouldn't book a holiday to Tunisia in 2015 at this point, maybe for 2016 if things quiten down.

When searching for holidays this year, I found Tunisia dirt cheap each time, often coming in at €300pp Inc flights, bags, transfers, and good accomidation.

Currently 4 Thomson planes In Tunisia now decending for landing.
2 more over France and one just leaving EMA for Tunisia now.

I assume these flights will be offered free of charge to their customers?

Very heavy with fuel, Heathrow could be the preferred airport. It may have to hold for hours or Dump fuel. It probably won't land with fuel for another 7 hours.

    Looks like its landing now.

Never thought I'd regard the older 737 as a worthwhile 'spot' but anything is welcome these days as a respite from NGs and A320S...

I see the evening Boston flight picked up a five hour delay after the A330 coming back from Faro diverted into Lisbon earlier.
