Strong eyelet curtain pole for single curtain

I had a single lined curtain made for my patio door to fit to a 240cm pole. Of course, it never occurred to me at the time that I would not be able to fit a middle bracket to the pole.

The pole i have won't support the weigh of the curtains. Partly because it's a 2 piece pole so is weak in the middle. Can anyone recommend a strong single piece pole that i can use? The eyelets are 40mm so a 50mm pole won't do.

Could you fix the pole to the ceiling instead of the wall?

I could but the eyelets won't be able to slide across the ceiling bracket. I've ordered a pole from Hickeys so fingers crossed! If that doesn't work i'll have to remove some of the lining to take the weight out

Are you using two curtains or one on the pole?

It is not possible to get a pole up to 2.4m without a centre bracket (this is from a list of 6 suppliers).
The metal poles are hollow so could you insert, for example, a piece of copper piping or galvanised piping into the curtain pole to strengthen the pole rather that putting up a centre bracket?

The metal poles are hollow so they slide into one another whereas the wooden poles screw together?
