Can you dance?

Well, can you? Do you enjoy it*? Have you ever been the victim of someone's terrible dancing?
If you can't, have you a thing you do when in situations where dancing is required?

For my teenage years, I could never figure out what to do with my hands so I just left them by my sides and severely over compensated with my legs, pounding around the dance floor like a sh*t Michael Flatley having a seizure, almost certainly kicked a few people pretty hard. I've hardly ever been on one since, probably afraid that I'd still be like that.

    * obviously excluding the empty house risky business type dancing, everyone loves doing that

I can dance like someone having a fit while drinking a bottle of Jemmy through a Lemon

    Everyone can dance.

The only question is whether or not you can dance in a manner which others find appealing/acceptable.

Ick, no. I can't dance and I hate trying to. I used to feel obliged to attempt it it when I used to regularly go to nightclubs back in the day, but now I'm old and decrepit (29) so don't really go to nightclubs any more, and if I did I wouldn't bother going near the dancefloor. I just feel so ridiculous when I attempt to dance ... I don't see the point of it!

Funnily enough, my boyfriend loves dancing. The odd time we do go out, he'll sometimes attempt to drag me onto the dancefloor with him, but doesn't usually succeed!

The great Bill Hicks said that women judge how good a guy is in bed by how good a dancer he is which is complete rubbish cis if he is a good dancer then he's gay.

Fudge all people can dance, falling around the dancefloor be more like it pretending to be like a celebrity.

I should add, when you go to your Daughters 18th birthday and all her friends are there, you have to dance like you're looking for a fix, just to annoy the fuk out of her, then everybody in the room thinks you're great, except the Daughter of course

No, the only thing about me is the way I walk.

I'm a full of rhythm, effortless, born to move sexy beast. Unfortunately my extreme shyness means that only the walls of my house will ever see this. It's such a pity really, you'll just have to take my word for it :D:D

Yes, and very well too. But I was a teenager during the days of acid house, rave etc.

Nope. Despite many attempts by friends to teach me.

As Niles in Frasier said when he was being taught to dance:

    "This is difficult, yet boring."

Well, I wouldn't dance on my own, but I can dance when I have someone else with me to share the embarrassment, then I get woeful brave altogether and start doing dirty dancing, shaming the life out of onlookers, but when you're dancing with someone else who gives as much a crap as you do, it's that much easier :D

I can't dance at all, but that doesn't stop me from trying when I'm on a night out :D Mostly I'm just grinding up against my partner on the dancefloor, but she amuses me a lot because she can't dance in any kind of sexy way at all, she looks like a five year old let loose on the dancefloor. It's very endearing for me though :o

You can dance if you want to. You can leave your friends behind. Cause your friends don't dance. And if they don't dance. Well they're no friends of mine.

Actually I saw this a while ago on YouTube, one of the funniest dance related videos I'd seen in a long time, had me thinking "You wouldn't get away with that on the dance floor nowadays!" :D

I can dance. Am I good is an entirely different question, and an entirely difference answer.

I think dancing is the most unnatural thing you can do. Hate it.

Well I definitely enjoy it anyway. From the age of 18 I was regularly going to electronic nights, starting out with cheesy trance, then electro-house, then tech-house, house, techno and dubstep with my weekly clubbing outings finishing up with that nebulous fusion of genres sometime referred to (rather wankishly) as post-dubstep. I'd hit the floor for hours and by the end of of it I could wring torrents sweat out of my t-shirt. I wasn't working out or eating well at that time but my weekend exertions had me ripped. It's primal, amazingly cathartic and, though I still get the odd jive in, I miss it quite a lot.

I think I can dance, but the only times I dance are normally when I am so sh1tfaced that I dont remember much the next day.
my wife says "I make a scene" but in reckon she's just jealous of my moves

Dancing is a vertical expression of a horizontal desire.

Get a few Guinness into me and I can dance with the best of them. And by 'dance with the best of them', I mean flail around the dance floor like a salmon on a riverbank, much to everyone's amusement, utterly convinced that I chose the wrong career path.

I quite like dancing WITH someone but if I'm going solo and I'm sober, I'm like a terrified horse in the middle of a frozen lake or something.

    Pure awkward.
