I've been looking through old pics on my laptop this evening and realised I never posted any pics of the time I visited LeMans last spring. The whole town is a special place as a petrol head. Everywhere you look is car mad, the road around the town just happens to be the Mulsanne straight of the actual racecourse that makes the town famous and the track itself has a fantastic museum that celebrates both the best of Frence motoring but also obviously has the ultimate collection of LeMans race cars including two of my ultimate race cars ever, the Mazda 787B and the Peugeot 905. LeMans is only about two hours from the boat in Cherbourg so anyone passing through France this summer its well worth a few hours and if you a motorsport geek like me, give youself a whole lot more time!!!

And as you're in the area the Manoir de l'Automobile in Loheac near Rennes is a fabulous museum.

Its ONLY a 767!! hahaha Saw the accident on the livestream but I was inside in a class at the time (shows how magnificant a student I am) and had to gag myself to now howl cries of pain seeing it. Interesting car in that it was basically the test bed almost at the back of the field in '88/89, similar to Nissan this year with the GTR, for the technology that became sucessfull in the 787 platform (we're going into race car geekery :D). A bit iconic that the rather unsucessfull 767 was carting off battered and bruised under the watchfull gaze of the 787 literally soaring overhead

Edit: Anyone looking for some Ear Porn, this is what true race cars sound like. https://www.youtube.com/watch?list=PLsgqwTEPG-_1Z11zSL4FOpYg5wn7WCDK2&t=45&v=5e304XMnhBA

They are just boring looking race cars. Bunch of them together is like a bag of potatoes.

Yep awesome potatoes with stripes and numbers.
When I go to shows and the majority of cars are ford escorts and capris ( no offence to any ford fans ) I consider it dull but I love old race cars particularly from the 70's and 80's.
